Upside to Lundmark?

So Lundmark does have an upside I'm noticing. He just score his first goal for us and of the year. HAHA...thats 25% of his scoring.

Good for Lundmark. I'm glad to hear things are already looking up for him in Los Angeles.

I think so. While he was with CGY, he showed some good offensive instincts on his good nights. He was also willing to grind, and drop the gloves on occasion.

He does lack some hockey sense though and makes odd plays at times. But he's an NHL-level player and in the right situation, ya never know.

hes not a guy i dislike. i wanted him out of calgary strictly because he was doing nothing with us. he still has good potential and i hope the best for him. his career isnt over and with guys like camelleri, kopitar and frolov, LA might be the best place for him to flourish.

He did the exact same thing with us last year, don't be fooled!

Don't get carried away, guys. He scored his first goal of the year, after 40 some games, because a defenseman passed the puck into his own net. Lundmark didn't even shoot it off anyone, he had nothing to do with the play other than being the last King to touch it in the offensive zone! His upside is as a 2nd line centre, but he's more than likely to be a Radek Dvorak type underachiever on the bottom two lines. He's just too slow and lacks hockey sense.

In '99 when the Flames traded down and missed out on Jamie I was disapointed. They then picked up Saprykin. Now it looks like both those guys are busts at 9th and 11th overall.

Sidebar - other part of the deal was sending Jan Hlavac to NYR for Marc Savard. Too bad Craig Button took Gilbert's side and sent a #1 center away.

He just didn't fit in here. There's no denying that the guy doesn't have talent. He's a great skater, and he does have a great shot, but he never really got a chance to showcase it much. I agree that playing in LA might be a good place for him to flourish as well.

Well, looks like he needed a change. I wish him luck. I think he does have talent.
