Weird timing for the call up as he could have been called up tomorrow. Specially when they are cap conscious.

Impossible. Our forwards are clearly not allowed one timers.

Let's hope that Thomas will be as good as Gallagher or Bournival when they started with us.

Where would he play? I guess they could sit Parros, but I'd rather not see Thomas on the 4th line.

I'm not the biggest size advocate here... but Thomas cannot be playing unless Therrien is sitting one of the smurfs. 5 forwards 5'10 and under just doesn't make sense.

Clearly going to be Briere in the pressbox. That guy will never get a fair chance.

We wanna save on packaging cost by putting both Bourque and him in the same box

Lets just say I'm pretty sure he didn't sign here to play on the 4th line with Parros and Prust/Moen.

I dont understand the call up.

White is ready also. Where does he fit? And will Therrien benched Briere after a 2pts night?

Pac - DD - Gally
Bourni - Plek - Gio
Bourque - Eller - Prust
Moen - White - Briere
+ Parros + Thomas

Will Thomas takes Bournival's spot and Bournival'll be send to middle the fourth and White benched?

Pac - DD 5'7 - Gally 5'9
Thomas 5'8 - Plekanec - Gio 5'8
Bourque - Eller - Prust
Moen - Bournival - Briere 5'8

Thats a crazy small line up

Jessica Ruznak from 690 saying Thomas slated to play against the Panthers where his father is an assistant-coach. He was taking Prust's spot during this morning practise as the latter was absent due to flu-like symptoms.

Just give a rest to Prust hes clearly running on an empty tank.

Kinda expected as he is one of the few Habs to show up every game.

Cool story for Thomas and his father.

Surprised there are no comments about Steve Thomas's son!!!

Anyone carefully observe C.Thomas against the Lightning?
(I didn't...apologies ahead of time! jersey #...??).

He played fine for a 1st game ever with the habs and 2nd NHL game ever.

He had some trouble clearing the zone and dealing with the overall tempo of the game, but managed to not doing anything terrible and got a few shots towards the net (don't know if any reached it...)

Not too eventful really....but didn't look out of place either.

I read somewhere that he was really appreciated by that part of the bench where he sat all game long. Seems he has real bench warming capabilities...

I don't see Thomas as being NHL ready yet. You can tell he has the habs but he needs to get stronger defensively and stronger in the corners. I think he is a guy taht will need the full 3 years AHL, nothing wrong with that.

I clearly remember 2 moments in the game where Thomas was free high in the slot but Eller was doing his stuff and obviously didn't see him.

The puck mysteriously moved around Thomas on a number of plays. It was either a lack of practice time or a lack of trust is making the rookie have to work for the puck a little more.

In any case Thomas has NHL level speed, which is a starting point. We know he has hands, something the team needs. He will get stronger just being around guys like Eller and Pacioretty, who both had to adjust their training to get stronger. His stint will be limited, but he'll understand what he needs to do to get back to the NHL , and yes he'll be back.

I thought he had skating issues? Well guess not. Defensively he didnt do any mistake, he blocked 2 shots even. For a 1st game he was ok. I think we should replace Bourque with him.
