I just shaved six month long mutton chops. They flew fine at my old job (a knife shop. Scary lookin' dudes are ok there), but he closed shop in January, so the chops had to go for job hunting reasons.

I'm not a 'stache guy, though.

Full beard since college so I could look older. Shaved it off when it turned gray to look younger.

Sorry, I'd have to buy a fake one & it would look kinda funny. Can I just wear my hair in two braided pigtails? You got any pix of Pelts and Oj with the 'staches?

Peltonen in agony over the stache

Pelts can't believe what Olli's looks like

Horton thinks it's hilarious while Van Ryn tries to not get too close

The end of story, from Miami Herald
'The two players shaved after Jokinen said they endured 60 minutes of taunts from Vancouver players who questioned their masculinity.

''There were a couple of idiots over there. I was pretty mad after the game,'' Jokinen said. ``There's not as much respect as there used to be. It's part of the game, I guess, to try to get me off my game.''

Jokinen said no other team commented on the mustaches, and Martin, who didn't know of the taunts until Thursday, said he was disappointed in the Canucks.'

http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald...y/16441422.htm

So they were not sure about their masculinity and under pressure they shaved mustaches?

Yeah, especially with that handful of Nucks players being the only team that openly taunted them. Makes little sense.

I would've kept the 'stache.

I remember growing one in Orlando that looked like Errol Flynn's. Got a lot of heat as a result, but I kept it on just to annoy everybody.

i read that this morning and thought to myself, sheez if olli's crying about an opposing player questioning his masculinity, maybe WE should be questioning it too. not as much respect as there used to be? nobody ever trash talked or called their opponent something unsavory? wasn't it one of the lausers who posted that clip of somebody on the bench calling someone on the other team a ****** for a minute straight? that was back in the early 80s. c'mon olli - if someone's giving it to ya, you ignore it, give it right back, run them or score. that'll shut them up. don't go crying to the media about it. butch up.

I'd like to see them knock Parros' stach! Though, it does seem like he cut the mullet.

Maybe this is Panthers' problem, zero self confidence, somebody tells them that mustache looks little bit gayish and what they do. Maybe some Carolina player told them after second period that you are going to lose and what happened.

ATF summary:
1. Mustache was extremely lame attempt at growing facial hair
2. Lame Mustache = easy target for taunting
3. Shaving mustache was good idea
4. Admitting you shaved it because other players picked on you makes you look weak
5. As captain, Olli shouldn't say things like that
6. Then again Olli probably didn't expect that to show up in print
7. Even if he did he figured it was South Florida and noone would notice
8. We noticed
9. Maybe we need to get out more

I liked the 'stache'. Yeah, they looked like porn stars, but they were a bit of a distraction on the ice, no?

What a bunch of weenies to shave them after the 'Nucks game. I'm horribly disappointed. You didn't see Commodore cut that insane red hair until after the Stanley Cup. Now THAT took guts.

And as a redhead myself, I actually liked the wild red hair.

Yeah, me too. I come from a whole family of redheads, and I've kept mine long and big for a few reasons, including to be IYF to the morons who made fun of it. And as I've told my also flamehaired daughter Julie, "People might not remember your name, but they'll always remember your hair."
