It seems that this game the Rangers are playnig a much better TEAM defense. They seem to be backing each other, and are actually crashing the net to get rid of the rebounds instead of leaving Hank by himself like normal. I think the Avery trade has done something to this team before he has even arrived. Maybe they realize that won't be the last trade, or maybe they just feel like a new team.

Good period.

The effort was there, and the scoring was as well.

3-1, great first period. The Dominator let 3 in, he also made some great saves. NY has to keep the foot on the throat on these guys, and no let-up in the second.

you think we played a good period fellas? i sure didnt, we just played less sucky than the wings. wings were awful out there, particularly their goalie. Rangers were coughing up pucks all over the ice. Had Hasek not given up 3 incredibly soft goals, we would be trailing 1-0. Im not trying to be mister negativity. we have a few great scoring chances, but the wings are playing REAL bad, im not so sure its because of us, seems more like theyre just having an off period...lets hope it continues.

I also thought Jagr scored the third goal. I don't care what people say, but I like Marcel Hossa, and not just because he scored either.

I didn't think we had the best period either.

Pond hockey.

incredibly sloppy and undisciplined. Hasek was just putrid on the 3 goals (and yet made 4 incredible saves as well). Detroit was as sloppy as any team ive seen this year, including ourselves.

not the best period, but the attack was good and defense was alright. with the guys the wings have, your defense is gonna look bad at least a few times per period

What happened? A Wings fan from Chicago? That's almost like a Toronto fan from Montreal, no?

yea i heard em talking about hasek "keeping the wings in the game" and i was like "whaŽ?"

so the score couldve been 5/6-1?

gah... 3-1 we very well know how the rangers love to dominate once they are up 2 goals, right?

that will be a nailbiter tonight

According to yahoo.com Krog only played 11 seconds in the 1st and still managed to be -1. that's impressive!

BTW, Rozsival has very good so far. He is so much better not playing next to Malik this year.

What's scarier is that Malik isn't even playing, and he's somehow a +4 for the game (with only 3 goals scored)...

Agreed jas..

although I wasn one of the very few, if any, who wasn't all too impressed with Malik last season too...Rozsival's a good player. Just wish I didn't see him out there on the first first PP unit every time.

The Rangers are not putting this game away.......again.

Henrick is keeping them in the lead.

Lundqvist with the second best GAA (behind Brodeur) since late December. Man, he's been great

Well you have to be lucky, but the Rangers are really dipping into the well. It's not gonna last.
