Now that Avery is traded, Bertuzzi to the Habs is a possibility because we were supposably in the running for Avery and want grit.

Why not? He's matured quite a bit and is not the player he used to be.

He doesn't hate french-Canadians. Talk about overblown.

I was thinking more about his frictions with his own teamates. The LA players are probably thrilled to see him go.

I was not aware of any. I don't really pay attention but from what Shanny was saying about him and his time in Detroit, he said he's just a goof.

Meh I think that Carbo and Muller could have put him in his place, we sorta need a guy who can get under the skin of other players, and can take somewhat of a regular shift and contribute.

I really dont see the need for Murray or Downey in the lineup neither of them win there fights, and they dont contribute by scoring or really even getting under the other teams skin.

As much as everyone hates Avery he brings alot to the team on the ice and whatever goes on in the changeroom can be delt with accordingly.

I would rather bring back Dagenais than acquire Avery or Bertuzzi.

ya sure buddy. Todd Bertuzzi is THE prototype powerforward of the last 5 years. He had an off year last year because he was afraid of hurting anyone and had back problems sinc the start of the year. I would gladly take trade Ryder or Samsonov for a rental like Todd Bertuzzi for the playoffs

What?

Avery would be a good 3rd line agetator with Bonk and Johnson, Bert would be a nice person to put in front of the net since it seems we don't put anyone there anyway.

Avery has matured alot this season and the reason he was traded was not because of a fallout or bad blood, but because he became a valuable trade element to the Kings and teams in the NHL see his value to a team for his grit and new found offensive ability too.

As for Dags, he can stay in Austria...he can't even play Elite hockey in Switzerland, Sweden, Russia or Finland or even in the German League? Yeah, bring him back first!

Don't kid yourself. Bertuzzi is still better than any player we have...he'd be on the first.

So is Bertuzzi about to come back from injury soon or something?

+1...he would be good with one of our playmakers (maybe would work well with koivu )

But seriously, eklund says that now that avery is traded, habs are looking for bertuzzi. But how could a team who is searching for a rental would want avery over bertuzzi? doesn't make sense that the reason why we might be looking for bertuzzi is that avery has been traded.

I think you meant that Bertuzzi was the prototype forward 5 years ago. Since the hit on Moore, the lockout and back surgery he is a shadow of his former self. I would look elsewhere

Bertuzzi has no confidence, and no heart. I spent last year watching the guy coast around and not do sh**. He is not even CLOSE to the player he once was. As for Avery, he is a good player, but more of a problem than his play is worth. He may draw a penalty or make some nice plays, but he has been known to be an absolute goof in the locker room and not have any respect for anyone.

This isnt true, Big Bert has a lot in him still, he had 7 points this season in 7 games. He would have had an excellent season this year.

Man I live in Vancouver, I watched this guy stink it up all of last year. You think just because he had 7 points in 7 games he was going to rip it up? He got 4 of those in one night in his first game in a 8-3 dribbling over the Bruins. Bertuzzi's career is over.

As previously stated Bertuzzi had an off-year last year, and who woudn't playing in the conditions he was playing. Leaving Vancouver was the only solution after the Moore hit. Too bad for him though he just had to get back problems after what was more then respectable start. Bertuzzi would know why Bob went after him if we were to trade for him. Having 2 powerforward wingers in our top6 would be something very rare
