The team is losing because they lack any desire to win, not because the top line is European.
Jagr is a weakling, no questions asked. He never checks, and always gets pushed around. The best he can do to hurt another player is try to punch a guy (see last years playoffs) and then mess up his shoulder, which is the reason why he never shoots anymore?

I know the whole team is European, Im not going to spend a half hour listing all the player's names.

When your best players are just cycling the puck on the PP near the point there is a serious problem.

It's still possible..

The play-offs that is. I dont know..an up-set victory tomorrow can be a good start..I think we can take Tampa..if we play disciplined. Same thing against the leafs, we did very well for the better part of that game as well. 1 atta time fellas, 1 atta time. We got 4 games this week, if say we do win all 4 I think mangament goes hard after a 2nd line center for Shanahan. If not, we begin to sell off players. I think the REAL test this week is the devils, make no mistake tomorrow won't be easy...but the game against the devils is a good barometer. It ain't over till the fat lady sings. Here's for the tootin power run that will get us into the play-offs.

Nope. No playoffs this season. Best thing for them. Higher draft position and idiot Dolan cannot raise the ticket prices.

Honestly I won't be terribly upset if they don't make it in...as long as they don't make any deals that hurt the team for years to come.

It's also possible that Alex Rodriguez will get a big hit in the playoffs...but we all know that ain't happening.

HA! Touche!

This team is on a train to nowhere. However, I'm not all that broken up about it. They're not a playoff team, and if they did make it in, it'd be another 1st round exit.

Sorry toots, NOT gonna happen, IF we manage to win the next 2 games, AND EVERY SINGLE TEAM ahead of us somehow loses, then MAYBE we have a chance, but otherwise, i think its likely we will be 10 points down within 2-3 games, which is just too much.

Sure it's possible but the math says no

If Manning can beat the Pats and then win the SB,AROD could lead the Yankees to the WS

#27 IN 07

Not likely since the Yankees haven't won a WS with a Republican administration in control since the late 50's

Anythings possible, but this team has had trouble stringing toghether wins. It seems like it's outside of their ability to win consistantly, and nows the time that they need to do it.

RangerBoy...

what about a Democratic Congress? Perhaps the mix (Democratic President/Republican Congress and vice versa) is exactly what the Yanks need!

As for the Rangers...they ain't out of it by any stretch of the imagination. Jagr will show up some day.

jagr and lundqvist carried us into the playoffs last year.. and mostly based on first half performance

jagr is obviously not the same jagr as last season for whatever reason (injury/lazy) and lundqvist had been inconsistent to start the season.. this team isn't good enough to make it and they won't have jagr to do it all himself

For the 18 who voted yes, I think they need to set foot in a doctors office soon.

When the question was asked it all depended on how things played out. The answer/% changes with the results of every passing game.

6th, 7th, 8th, 9th place teams all got 2 points tonight...

We now have to go approximately: 18-9-1 in our last 28 games to make them.

Slowly fading away as the % drops.

That will keep changing. One thing for sure..if this team continues to play the way they did tonight- the play-offs WILL NOT be a LONG SHOT.

Eye opening math. Do you think Sather and Co will be looking at the same as the trade deadline approaches, or will they adopt Shanahan's recently stated position: "All you need to do is string together a few wins in this conference"?

That's a mighty big what if. They have showed glimpses all season but they do it a few games then they play like garbage again for another 5 games.

I'd like to add another thing. Sean Avery's impact on this team was ENORMOUS.The north/south game from that 2nd line was well defined and GLARING for everyone to notice. Him and Shanny have something going here..they found each other nicely- cullen wasn't bad either but he needs to hold onto the puck longer then he does..he losses it a little too quick. Avery was passing like gretz out there, I just pray to god it continues.

Right now we have to go at the bare minimum to possibly get that #8 spot:

15-11-0

Getting those 5 outta the last 6 possible points helped us and having the teams above us not gain many points over the past 3 days was an added plus.

and for the rest that said no maybe you should go to the doctors office sooner and find a new team to root for because the seasons not over yet.
and considering they are only a game and a half out of the playoffs with 26 to go i hardly consider it a long shot. maybe if it was the last week of the season but for now i find its still a little early to be circling the wagons just yet.
