"Poile was in hallway not even on bench. Players were passing boards to boards and a Weber pass ricocheted off blade into David's face #preds"

Following twitter, it sounds like he took a ricocheted Weber pass to the boards off of the face. Sounds like Poile found his way out of having to go to Sochi and not poop in a bucket, perhaps? Tough way to do that!

Woah. Hope he's okay.

Weber definitely holds the record for accidentally injuring the most people with friendly fire, dang.

"I'll show you not bring in offense..." was overheard by other players before Weber took the shot.

@Russostrib: Paramedics in #preds locker room; David Poile hit by puck at skate. He walked and sat self on stretcher; black eye, bloody nose, groggy

Damn, who said managing a team wasn't tough? In hockey, every position is tough.

Who is going to make all of our big trades and deals if he is out for a whlie?

Hopefully not Trotz!

Maybe have Shea do some negotiating for a few top 6's for us?

I hope he recovers quickly and it isn't anything dangerous especially considering his age.

I'm glad it's a deflection or I would be asking when the funeral is.

Twitter is relaying black eyes and broken nose. Poile walked to the stretcher and laid himself down. Still, black eyes THAT quick. Sound like a FX to me DR. Volde. As for Pete they are already releasing photos of him in the hospital bed.

If Poile is screaming 'Trade Weber!' I believe the diagnosis is brain damage.

I was getting the impression that Weber was just passing a puck and it somehow got deflected and went airborne. (airborn?)

Actually the chain of command states it would be Fenton, they ARE close to Milwaukee.

Cue 50 thousand trade weber threads

But seriously, for someone of Poiles age, I hope his recovery goes smoothly. It would really be a shame if a freak injury like this became any more serious than a black eye and a broken nose.

Told Team USA GM David Poile suffered a fractured orbital bone when he was hit by the errant puck. That's why he'll remain hospitalized.
Poile staying overnight in St. Paul, Minn. Hospital.

Well, he has plenty of time to work the phones and get some things rolling today. Poile if you are reading this. I hope you recover well but I also hope that puck knocked some sense into you to make the Nashville Predators better.

Oh crap... but I sadly just thought that he could be FRANKEN-POILE for the rest of this season... I know... I go straight to hell for that comment.

That's ok.....we were all thinking that.

Man I wish Volde was on, he'd be the expert....

Unless he's been called up to glue together Poile's skull....

I'd bet on the Oral/Maxillofacial Surgeon my wife used to work for at Vandy doing it... that guy is a wizard with trauma cases.

It's in Minnesota so no TN surgeons.
