Rather STREAK into the Playoffs than SQUEEK into the Playoffs

Come on ...this team has been streaky all year. 5 pts out of the dance and I think they can make it. I know this is the internet, but we must keep positive!

This team needs to turn it on and fight their way into that last spot and enter the playoffs with some forward momentum!!!!

The Avery Era Begins!!!

I'm not about to suck up the rest of my tickets and rights to the playoffs. GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!

that doesn't mean make detrimental youth for vets trades, but if a blockbuster centered around young players, going and coming, has to go down...MAKE IT!! The Garden is too good a place to go back to the years of missing the playoffs.

Ugh, the mere fact that we have to say things like 'It better start tonight' should give you guys some clue as to where this team is headed.

Why does keeping positive always mean 'lets forget the facts/reality of the situation' !

How about this - i'm positive towards the teams future, just not the immediate future

LET'S GO RANGERS....
last season they fell apart near the end lost 9 straight games 5 before the playoffs and all 4 in the playoffs.
This season they've been apart all season, so now it should be the other way they're goin to get put back together and goin into the playoffs on a winning streak in eighth place and then sweep the sabres!!!!!
YEAH RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET'S TAKE IT TO EM!!!

29 games, 5 points to make up.

possible, sure, but HIGHLY unlikely.

they need 92 points, i think, to make it, they are at 54. Thats 38 points remaining. they need to be 19-10-0 or 18-9-2 or something to that effect.

were talking ~9 games over .500.

im pretty sure the most weve ever been in a 30 game stretch was ~3-5 games over .500

It aint happening, not unless there is a massive turnaround by the offense.

btw, if we squeaked in, we would face the sabres in the first round....you know, the team we didnt beat even once in 4 opportunities.

They'd beat us in 4 or 5.

I really had my hopes up for this year with the way that they played last year but they just haven't been able to win with any consistancy. You're right that there is still hope though. The way that they've played this year it's a blessing that they are only 5 points out of the playoffs.

This teams biggest problem is lack of consistantly winning games. Even a two game win streak would be appreciated.

The facts and REALITY of the situation are we are still in sight of the playoffs.

fact: 8th seeded oilers upset the world last season. How can people root for this team to lose just so we pick 1 or 2 rounds higher in the draft. Come on, playoffs is a whole new thing once you're in. We can turn it around.

18-9-1

Thats what the Rangers would probably have to go to just barely make the playoffs.

You never know maybe they can get hot at the end contrary to what happened last season. Maybe one more trade will put them over the top. There still in it even though they only got a point from the devils tonight. Look if they beat Washington and Tampa Bay this upcoming weekend they still have a good shot to make it especially since TB is in the lower part of the Top 8

hm, I just don't see them beating those teams. They haven't done well against either all season and I don't think anything will change this time around.

Please Rangers, surprise us once instead of disappointing us all the time

That number changes daily as per the games being played and what teams ahead of us do, and below us. There is no question.

IMO, it's vital that they win 3 or 4 in a row starting against TB on Friday. If they can do that, they'll probably be 3 points or so out of a playoff spot.

Two games in hand on Carolina AND two games left against Carolina. That's where they can make up ground on them. I don't take the Islanders seriously and Toronto could make a decent run at a spot if they stay healthy. TB and PIT will probably make it, they are just playing great hockey right now and show no signs of slowing down. Our best shot to make the playoffs is by catching Carolina and slipping into the playoffs as the 8th seed.

We can do this!

First 32 games: 18-10-4

Last year, they started out 20-8-4.

It's possible, but of course won't be easy.

A tampa win could spark something for sure, especially since they have a few points on us, i have a good feeling about it and I think not only will we win that game, but see a possible trade around that time.

Washington is right behind us in points but that doesn't matter. They can win all they want, we just cant lose. I think this is an easy win for us. Though you can never tell when you're up against AO, but if we take Tampa the night before and aren't too sore, there's no reason to not feed off of it and drop Washington.

Carolina on the 15th away game wont be easy, they're close too. Just as important as the Tampa game. Gotta come out swinging against these guys, a win here would be amazing considering that...

17th and 18th we have Philly and Chicago. We cant lose those games, should be an easy 4 points at this stage. Lose those and forget playoffs.

After that is a little far but we got jersey back to back. We need as many points before these games as we can and I think we can get them.

Point is I think we can pull off a mini-win streak and hopefully a larger one. But the Tampa and Carolina games are must wins, with two easy wins in Chicago and Philly we should hope.

It can easily happen people, if we're winning allot before the two back to back jersey games, expect another deal.

One thing is sure, not getting homeice "advantage" is no loss for this team.

We are 10-12 at home and 15-12 away.

Not strange since most fans rather boo Malik then support Prucha when he is pummeld by three players 6'5, and the refs decide to only give Petr 2 min.
