Pretty sure, if not positive that Holmgren and his crew are after a back-up goalie and are probably scouting Bryz.

IIRC they can't acquire Bryz this season because of the buyout...Plus...that wouldn't happen in a million years. Bryz took out a team of ECHL'ers for supper and announced that it was on the Flyers.

I am not saying they won't. What I'm saying is that we don't have a surplus of 1st round prospects to stock our own cupboards while the window to go deep into the playoffs is still open. That makes trading draft picks more of a desirable alternative, in my opinion. However, if the the player they get back has a high enough likelihood to make a significant positive impact, you ever know, we might see Pearson or Vey go. I believe that Toffoli and Zykov would be off the table, though.

I thought Gagner had another solid game tonight, set up Marincin, Hall, and Yakupov at least with point blank scoring chances.

He may not be a long term fit here, but I don't think we should just throw him away for a Kyle Clifford either. Let him play out the season here and see if there is a better deal to be had at the draft.

LOL. He's the last goalie in the universe they'd be scouting.

Hope you don't work in sales.

There are some college kids he's eyeballing. He doesn't want to have 50 contracts when these kids get out of school.

Any decent D's or C's coming out of the NCAA as FA's this season?

the last minute was classic gagner...

give puck away and almost lose game then get setup for one timer in slot and basically fall down trying to shoot the puck...

not saying he had a horrible whole game but his limitations are what they are

Just a thought. But during this Oiler hiatus, it would be beneficial for some to get Prostate exams. Just to chill out guys.

Edit: For the record. Mine was painless.

Oh, and game was entertaining again.

That shouldn't have anything to do with it.

It's really rare for a college FA to get a contract that doesn't count until the following season. Only the ones who step right into the NHL get them, basically.

I'd say we got a decent shot at him. He's from Lloyd, got an invite to the Oilers' development camp, and if iirc was spotted in Oilers attire getting the 'tour' when his college season was done.

RD, HEAVY shot (like break-the-glass heavy--yes, that's your cue to youtube it), needs to work on his defence. Good project.

Your "doctor" might not be legit, nobody really needs those when they are 18.

Gagner seems to be getting back on track a bit judging by his stats.

He was -10 after his first 7 games with 1 point.
He was -11 over his next 31 games with 18 points.
He was +1 in his last 10 games with 5 points, but he has been generating a lot of good chances for his teammates in the games I've seen.

I doubt he has a very good end to the season, he's not traditionally a big point getter after the games become meaningless.

I sure hope the Oil can ride this one out, they don't need to turf a good young player just because of some disgruntled fans.

We need to see how he plays in the first 20 games of next season to truly evaluate him. If a big move needs to happen in the meantime it should be the coach.

You actually think MacT is talking about trading Gagner because of what the fans think of Gagner?

I will be absolutely shocked if Sammy is still here next season.

@TreenasOil: Gagner update Kings wanted Oilers to take almost half of his salary back for Clifford and Martiniz and also wanted Pitlick Mr.Katz said no
So uh yeah, if that's true I can see why it didn't happen. I don't think I'd trade Pitlick for Clifford tbh.

Didn't we invite that player to the rookie camp? Or am I mistaking him for another NCAA candidate...
