If the Rangers get a centre, who would u want it to be?? I voted for Gratton. Morrison would cost way too much. Gratton has size, the Rangers can use some size down the middle. Betts is our only centre with size 6'3 210. Nylander, Cullen, Krog aint that big. Gratton also plays physical and kills penalties, takes key faceoffs and sticks up for teammates, he has skill too. Gratton only has 8 goals 18 pts and 69 pim.

I mean I voted Vasicek, because he's still fairly young, but I wouldn't really want to deal for any of those guys.
Vasicek always gets hurt,
So u would not do Malik and Immonen for Gratton??? Immonen aint in the Rangers plans, might has well get something for him before he goes back to europe like Kondratiev. At least we would dump Malik. Panthers can use some defense.

No, probably not. Gratton's career high for points is 40, something I think Jarkko Immonen is capable of right now. Shedding Malik is nice, but I'd rather hold on to Immonen or at least move him in a deal that makes us noticeably better both now and down the road.

Gratton had 2 60 points season in 96-97 and 97-98. He also did score 30 goals one year so he does have some offense in him. If we aint gonna use Immonen, might as well trade him for something to help the Rangers or the future.
You know last year I believe AHall you wanted Avery really bad and I wasn't very keen and you may have been right--one problem I had with Avery was his shooting his mouth off in the press all the time and the odd story about him being a locker room problem--hopefully that is behind him because we have him now and maybe that will be a very good deal for us.
Gratton however I have watched for years. Living upstate I got to see him quite often when the Sabres had their own TV channel and didn't have to borrow ours at all. Gratton is not that good. He's not young. He's not that physical either. He's not fast and he used to play himself out of the lineup all the time. He's a little more skilled maybe than Adam Hall but the way they play is IMO very similar. I don't know how Florida is using him but I have a lot of doubt whether his coming in is going to be of any use to us and I would steer clear of him. Of the list Vasicek is probably the best option but he's not really a 2nd line player either. I'd take Morrison but Vancouver would have to take a big contract back--maybe Malik? plus I'm sure they'd want something else.
Voted Morrison. Gratton sucks and is no better than what we already have on the 3rd/4th lines here already. Stumple and Smolinksi aren't what this team needs right now. Vasicek I would take if the price tag was a mid pick or prospect.
i voted Smokes. #1) best nickname ever! #2) UFA should cost us less than a young RFA. If he was a young RFA (or a better skilled UFA), we'd be giving up another Cliche in the deal. #3) UFA means we can sign Drury next off-season. #4) and that Dubinsky will get a chance. #5) Face-offs #6) Plays a decent two-way game. On the not so good Chicago team this season, -1 is the lowest he's ever gone in a game. #7) Toasties!
