perfectly executed, one of the best "forsberg" moves I've seen in a very long time

Hatty in 6 minuets of icetime, all in the 2nd period. 10 Goals in last 15 games as a 20 year old in the AHL. Not bad.

1 goal in the 26 that preceded it though.

If he keeps this up over the olympic break I would expect him to be getting a call-up.

Yes he had a really slow start to the season, but he was coming off a shoulder injury sustained during training camp. It finally looks like he's healed up and in full-swing.

Early in the season he was still generating a lot of shots as well. Just not putting them in. Now it looks like there's some regression happening and he's getting some bounces/puck luck.

His development looks similar to Tomas Jurco's from Detroit. Took about a half-season to get used to the pro game, then his game took off.

Add to that the fact he was trying to find his way on the worst team in the AHL, which happens to be a brand new franchise with a rookie coach.

What lends credibility to Jensen starting to play the way he's capable of is the fact the whole team is doing the same. It's not like everyone was playing to their potential and it was just Jensen who stuck out like a sore thumb.

Jensen is a Jeff Carter-esque pure goal scorer. He didn't rack up the assists in his rookie season in the SHL and the same goes for him this year in the AHL. He's just a guy who finishes in all sorts of ways.

Jensen: Please trade him. AWOL in the games I saw him play in. Get whatever you can. This is called cutting your losses. He has nothing. Draft from Can Junior only. Better ROI by far

Sure we can given Jensen some benefit of the doubt but he has since his draft year in junior, Sweden and in the AHL looked good in stretches and lost in other ones.

Calling him Jeff carter-esque is really a stretch too.

Hopefully his struggles this year are injury related and he can get back on track but he has to earn his way, which is still a very long way to go.

A 20 year old half-Canadian drafted from the OHL who had a slow start to his first AHL season (after scoring more goals in the SHL as a U20 than any since Sedin, Naslund, Hornqvist, Forsberg), and its time to cut our losses?

No thanks.

Why did he only play 6 minutes?

Saw him last time Utica played here in Abby, and I'd say, despite not scoring, he was extremely noticeable. Got chances, and was very active with the puck

Took him a little while to find his groove, but not only is he scoring, but I've seen a very noticeable improvement in his defensive game from his time in the OHL

We heard the same thing from people about Pietrangelo and Scheifele in recent years when they didn't look great in the NHL as teenagers.

Man that comparison kind of stings at the moment, since in one of my sim leagues I just swapped Jurco for Jensen last summer

Good to see him picking up his play though.

I'll give a young and improving player a free pass on a slow start if they kill it in the second half. I'm not a Canucks fan (opposite actually) but have always thought highly of Jensen. The 1 goal in 26 games baffled me, so it's nice to see him finding the net now.

Yep. I remember hearing that Glenn Anderson couldn't skate, too. LOL

I like Gaunce and Horvat more than NJ. Hard to tell when they are still filling out. Way fewer first round busts when the draft age was 20

I hope U are right about him. Does he show a mean streak though? I kind of want that in a forward .. I loved Steamer and Tiger. No skill? Tiger potted 30 and 35 etc.Smyl never took a shift off in his life. Not enough of that today
