I'm also pleasently surprised with Hossa.

Well last game the Rangers had a bunch of random lines, so I don't know what to expect. I saw at least one shift with Straka Nylander and Colton Orr and I didnt know *** was going on

Didn't know what was going on? Nothing...just line matching...Orr in his regular scoring role....and then Straka and Nylander moved up to play with him. I think Renney wanted to get Straka and Nylander going...so who better to put em with?

I like those lines, gotta get Callahan up here, Playing Hall and Orr is pointless.

I'm surprised Hall wasn't shipped to LA, ship him back to the west.

I love what Avery brought to us after watching the Devils game, but on the first line?

I dont know why but every time I keep looking at these lines things look way out of place, like people are playing where they shouldnt be or should be I dont know.

This lineup doesnt feel properly balanced.well it does but I dont know, this seeing Hossa on the 2nd line is killing me. Prucha is having a tough season, but yet Hosssa sucks but they refuse to scratch him or move him to the 3rd or th line, the guy really is taking up space.

renney must go he just dont know what the **** he is doing, panicing and making ridiculous lines all over the place.

What i think would be great is to get rid of Hossa,Hall and Betts( But if they must be kept then this is how the lineup should look, though they just signed Betts for some retarded reason, he is useless since Cullen is here now NYR has 2 3rd line centers and with Avery makes really 3, so this team is being ran totally ****ed. This is what seems most sense to me. Jagr and Prucha click great so why isnt Prucha with jags, I dont know.

anyway this what the deal should be:

Prucha-Straka-Jagr
Cullen-Nylander-Shanahan
Dawes-Avery-Ortmeyer
Hollweg-Betts-Hall/Hossa/Orr

Avery on the 4th line, the guy has about 30 points this season and only 50 games in, and you want him on the 4th line and Betts on the third.I guess to you it makes sense.

He can score on 4th. 3rd line is shutdown line i.e. not-to-be-scored-against line. Avery could play on 2nd. Swap him and Immo, but do not let Avery centre 3rd.

He played very well against the wings. I was impressed. Good effort. Controlled the puck well. Skated well and kept skating. SHOT THE PUCK AT THE NET. He needs to keep doing this. I can't help but keep thinking that there is something there. He's definitely worth what we gave up to get him(Murray).

Avery slots in very well on a 3rd line. I think that is a sweet spot for him. 14 - 16 mins per game. With him on the 3rd line and Hollweg on the 4th line you have a nice combination that can begin to make the Rangers much tougher to play against.

I second that opinion. Justification:
1. Seems like the Jagr line needs a shakeup.
2. I think the aggresiveness of Avery will help Jagr find space and time.
3. Similarly, even though he doesn't need protection - I think Jagr's confidence will rise if someone is there to stick up for him.
4. Avery has some skill to contribute on the line
5. I think Avery wants to be a go-to guy, and would welcome the challenge of the first line. Unlike Betts or Cullen or Prucha - when any of them play with Shanahan on the second line, it seems like they just want to pass to him, rather than PLAY with him.
6. COP line was rocking for a while. Keep them on the beat. (sorry, I had to)
7. Agreed that Hossa has the talent to perhaps start helping on the second line.

Alternatives:

Swap Nylander and Straka.

Swap Hossa and Avery (and move Straka/Nylander to center). Hossa played well with Jagr in the past.
