Some learn their way out of it, like Crosby. Others do not.

From in close, Desharnais' shot is quick and precise. from further out, it just doesn't have the velocity. It's just when he's in close and doesn't shoot that gets frustrating. Put yourself in his shoes, though, his line mate is probably also open for a nifty scoring opportunity

I like how people keep saying that Eller's production has dipped, and he needs to now prove why he should get top 6 minutes. DD didn't have to prove anything, he was just given everything so that he'd start performing.

He's been performing since he's been given Max and Gally, but he didn't EARN those minutes, or those line mates. That's the issue I have personally. Not knocking his production, knocking that he's fed everything off a silver spoon and coddled by the ****** coach.

DD did earn those minutes. Nice revisionist history.

Eller earned minutes when he played great with Galchenyuk and Gallagher, but then he stopped. The other two didn't. They even tried Pacioretty with Eller and the magic wasn't there. DD gets back with Patches and suddenly he goes on a tear. That tells me earned the minutes.

Right now as far as I'm concerned any line with Ryan White is the real third line until Eller starts smartening up.

You put DD in the same circumstances as Eller which includes no pp time and wingers who can’t score and DD would probably have less points then Ryan White. DD had 1 assist in the first 18 games. His turnaround started on Nov 19th,the same game Gally was taken off the Eller line and put on the DD line. I highly doubt there is a g.m. in the league who would take DD over Eller.

"no PP time and wingers who can't score"

Why is it that Tomas Plekanec and Brian Gionta are fine but Lars Eller isn't?

DD had a slump. DD got out of his slump. DD is now one of our best forwards. Lars Eller started hot like Brian Savage. He has been pretty much offensively impaired since November. DD at least has a career of proving he can score. Eller has just Andrei Kostitsyn level inconsistency.

Seriously, it's like we're recycling old Kostitsyn arguments. "He's being played as a left winger when he's a natural right winger!" "The team has the wrong expectations!" "He's being given third line time instead of top six time!"

In the past three games Ryan White has been a better player than Lars Eller, offensively and defensively. Explain that without pointing to DD.

That Getzlaf kid really improved his game in the last two years.

Habs got lucky in this win... In third period Beaulieu and Eller made bone-head defensive plays turning puck over deep in their own end. Both times causing Price to make a great save to bail them out.

Need to change, given up these chances will come back to get team.

The bashing would probably stop if people didn't go around claiming he's the 2nd best forward of the team.

it really wouldn't. It would only stop if he grew another 7 or 8 inches.

WOW, really, Pleks plays against the best centres in the NHL, every game....if his only job was to go out, feed Patchs & never go in the corners or dirty areas on the ice he'd have 50 points by now! Let Eller play with Chucky & Gally and they will produce. MT was trying for the first 20 games to get "his boys" producing by mixing lines, he then broke up our best young line we've had in years (Eller, Chuck & Gally) and people wonder whats wrong with Eller? Why do you think St. Louis fans are lineing up with trade proposals for Eller? He is a good hockey player who is being missused some would say abused by MT!
Whitey and Weise are old friends, know each other well & know each others game.

ps I feel like throwing up everytime you mention the name Kostitsyn.....

No he wouldn't, because he got three games with Pacioretty and he did nothing with him.

No, Galchenyuk and Gallagher will produce. Eller stopped producing with them. People need to go back and see that aside from an Islanders game (maybe it was the Oilers), Eller just stopped being productive with the Gally's.

And you'll do the same with Eller in three years because he's overrated for potential instead of results.

Plekanec has produced with MaxPac before, and the fact you base yourself on a 3 game sample in order to prove some kind of moronic argument shows how bias you are. Really dude, a 3 game sample??

Galy and Gallagher both saw their production drop when the EGG line was split up.

Wrong again. The EGG line has constantly been split up during games and throughout the early part of the starting from game 4. Various combinations were tried in order to spread the offense through most of our line up. But when placed all together, it was a good productive line. This, of course, is without considering the fact the EGG line was given a larger role at the beginning of the year to continue their development. But that was halted in order to fix the other lines.

Someone saying that he's 2nd the best forward is no excuse to bash the player.

How about you just disagree, tell what's good about him, but then point out where he is in our depth chart?

DD is doing certain things damn right, but you would never believe it if you listened to certain people
