It's only absurd to Rangers fans who have no vision or clue how a winning team is constructed. People should have learned their lesson from the end of last season. Teams with 6 forwards who have no offensive ability and 4 defenseman who stink, don't win when it matters and teams know how to play with the rules.
The Rangers took advantage of a league that didn't understand how to play with the new rules. Those days were over the end of the last season.
who were you before because i know you are not new to this board
if someone disagrees you act as though their opinion is undoubtably wrong or ridiculous to even think.. kind of reminds me of that guy i got into an argument a few days ago, gretz something, except you don't come off to be as big of a blow hard, and you don't ask a question to make a point
When it became clear the coach would not be fired, about a month ago after horrible coaching choices and a nice losing streak. Renney can't lead this team to the playoffs if Jagr isn't leading the league in points and lundqvist isn't playing like a god.
No, I am right here. Work has been keeping me away for most of the weekdays. However, my thoughts would be similar in most aspects, save for the fact that I never called for Renney's head. However, in the department of what it takes for Renney to appear to be a successfull coach, my thoughts would be very similar to Fly's.
First, I don't think the season is "over" yet. I think anything can happen in the NHL today. Hell, we could go on a run and win the cup, obviously that would pretty much be a miracle but there is always a chance until you are mathmatically eliminated.
Second, I think this team has had obvious flaws since day one. Our position now should not really be a big surprise. I remember thinking after bombing in the playoffs last year that this team could be in big trouble this season. It took Jagr and Lundqvist both playing like MVPs to get the Rangers to 100 points last year. Adding Shanny (though he is awesome), Cullen, Ward, Rachunek and Hall was never going to be enough if Lundqvist and Jagr were not playing at their best. This was pretty obvious when we had that first slump at the beginning of the year and everybody sat around saying "oh, well it is early". Of course it doesn't help that Renney can't coach and won't even attempt to matchup lines to help Jagr. But again, Renney's coaching abilities (or lack there of) were evident last season if you looked beyond the performance of Jagr and Lundy. So, while the season isn't really over I think that if you were in tune with reality then the performance of this team should not be a shocker.
I think the board knows I'm not rooting against the team
Lies and propoganda. Everyone knows you are a cynic and a well-known pessimist when it comes to the topic of our beloved team. Your late hoping on the bandwagon notwithstanding, your transperency is clear when it comes to this team, SOS. Everyone knows you root against them. Just embrace the dark side and be done with it.
