Scoreboard Watching Tonight 02/07

I don't normally make threads but I figured we need one that is from somebody not rooting for this team to lose in order to gain a round or two higher in the draft pick. So with that said, there's so many games tonight that can put the rangers further behind in the standings, even though we're not even touching the ice. Below is a list of games that I feel the outcome of could help us, hopefully. Maybe more accurately just simply not hurt us.

Carolina V Boston

Pittsburgh V Philadelphia

Los Angeles V Washington

Montreal V Ottawa (both have a significant lead in standings)

Islanders V Jersey

Toronto V Nashville

Bolded team wins would help us. Make predictions if you want just for fun.

Those are the most significant games I think. Thanks to hockey bird for pointing out how many games are played tonight which could send us closer to the dumpster.

And here's the standings
And here's the scoreboard.

Just for all those people who actually want the rangers to make the playoffs. (without selling the whole farm club, of course, even if it may be the only way). Try to keep the negative talk about how this team is done out of this thread please.

lotus...

you've really highlighted the Rangers' current predicament. When you say a win by Boston doesn't hurt this team, it just shows the precarious position they are in currently. Boston is three points behind the Rangers with two games in hand. Two points tonight makes them one point behind the Rangers with still a game in hand. Of course, the are 6 points out of the 8th spot, Carolina, and a win further separates them from the pack (of course, Carolina has two games in hand on the Rangers). Ditto Jersey/Isles in a way too considering the Isles are currently out of a playoff spot, but the Devils are now sooo far ahead that it'll be ultra difficult to catch up.

Man, this looks bad!

We wont catch Jersey I think, so we may as well hope they beat the isles since the islanders are closer to us. As for Boston I think if they pull of fa win, Carolina is a much bigger threat so it would help. especially since we play Carolina in the coming games, if they were closer to us in the standings for it, that would be nice. the reason i would want Boston to win tonight is cause i think they can win this then lose their next few. Where Carolina has a better chance to keep winning down the stretch, imo.

Yeah it looks bad but it has looked bad all year, this is no worse than most expected. I think these are the teams the rangers should want to win tonight.

I know this has nothing to do with the Rangers, but wow the Habs Sens game is huge for both teams. Sens only 1 point behind Montreal. I wish the Ranger were in that type of race and in the playoffs. Lets just hope they make it.

I don't see what's so wrong about rooting for your team to make the playoffs. So please, keep it to a thread thats about hoping the rangers lose, sell, fire Renney, whatever. There's plenty of those threads around, keep it out of this one.

Its been over for a while, but even an optimist has to agree, unless the Rangers get 11 points out of the next 6 games, the season is over, because we will likely be sellers come deadline day.

Just thought id show you that, its the daily standings updated every day with projected standings. As of todays win, you guys are projected to have 85 points, only 6 points out of what the 8th seed is projected to have. I cant believe some of you guys think your out of it, 1 hot streak and your basically in 7th place already...trust me as a Pen fan i know.
