Bertuzzi is a *******. I dont care if he was sorry, what he did to Steve Moore is unreal.

Doesn't help us at center. The question here is, can Bertuzzi still perform at the level that he performed at before the Moore incident? He's an upgrade over every option on the wing outside of Shanny, Straka, and Jagr. His ridiculous salary and injury history should lower his trade value.

If he comes for dirt cheap, I'd take him, but I'm not giving up prospects for a question mark like him.

Then again, RDS is just about as reliable as Bruce Garrioch, who in 2004 said that the Capitals were going to trade Olaf Kolzig for Matt Barnaby... straight up.

Anyway, As far as the Bert Man goes, I'm really not for it, He is playing more like the Bertuzzi of the Islander days. He never really got back to being the player he was b4 the Moore incident, he has defiantly lost his edge and tenacity that made him the near super star he was.

All that being said, i have to admit a line of Shanny-Avery-Bertuzzi line has defiantly peaked my interest. The 1st line is the First line and it enables cullen to play the 3rd line wing where he belongs with Betts and Prucha. I do also like that we would be the most hated team in the league. Adding Avery to the mix and than Bertuzzi would just be the icing on the cake.

If it costs next to nothing maybe they take Malik Or Kasper and some mid level prospects I say do it, at this point Inommen is not a threat to making this Ranger team now or in the future, he might as well be packaged in any deal thats made.

The more I read and write this response, the more I could see this deal working. But a lot has to happen. Whats the Big guys contract status anyway?

Nylander-Jagr-Straka
Avery-Shanny-Bertuzzi
Betts-Prucha-Cullen
Krog-Ortemyer-Hollweg

Hossa & Hall are the odd man out/Extra players.

Why in the world is Hossa sitting. You dont need Hollweg in the lineup if you have Avery. Hossa should be playing 3rd line at the very least.

Straka-Nylander-Jags
Shanny-Avery-Bert
Hossa-Cullen-Prucha
Ortmeyer-Betts-Krog/Hollweg

Personality for me isn't an issue, performance is.

I just don't know if Betuzzi is the same player anymore.

I think a change of scenary would help. I think playing with a fellow north american player who plays a tough gritty game like Shanny would make him play better. Bring him to NY and put him with Avery and let us be the bully for once. We've been pushed around too much the last two seasons, its time we start pushing back while still adding scoring at the same time.

I rather have Hollweg in the line-up then Hossa, he forchecks better, and thats what the bottom line are supposed to do.... Wear the defensemen down.....

Because he isnt a soft european, will hit, sometimes fight, and provide a lot of north american grit that this team needs.

Ironic that the guy with the username kasparaitis666 complains about Euros being soft. There are PLENTY of tough European players... And PLENTY of soft North-Americans. So let's drop those stupid stereotypes.

The funnier part of the quote is Todd doesn't even fight, Hollweg kicked his A@@ and most Euro's are wimps but there are tougher ones out there then THe Snooze

First of all Kaspar is not soft. There are some tough Euros, just none of them are on our team and we need tougher players.

I know Kaspar isn't soft! The irony was that you called Euros soft, yet obviously love a guy who is Euro and not soft at all.

And I agree we need some more toughness, it's just the "North American" part that gets to me. No difference between toughness from Ivanans or Boogaard.

The last time I heard such an objectionable comment was when Billy Martin said he would use Hitler in his lineup if he thought he could help his team.

Umm... except there's 100 North American's like Boogaard for every 1 European like Ivanans.

North Americans ARE tougher by and large with a few exceptions. Your average N.A. player hits more, fights A LOT more, and sticks up for teammates A LOT more. And those still are ingredients to building a winning team. So, yes, those are things we are missing on this team.
