The Admirals Twitter acccount said it was the GW assist, but Yahoo says GWG. I wonder what it really was.

Pretty sure it was a goal. He wristed a shot that looked like it deflected off of a Latvian player, though Niederreitter was right there in front of the goalie. The tv broadcast gave the GWG to Moser.

Yes, it was an own-goal so it gets credited to Moser. Good effort chasing down his own puck and sendig it to the front of the net.

Josi also looked good. Had two great scoring chances. One was stopped by a dman stick from Latvia in the blue ice that was going in. He also was left out to dry and made a good d stop on a two on one.

Moser's goal wasn't the most beautifull since he tried to center from a negative angle vs the goal and the puck rebounded on the back of the Latvian defensman. But what should be noticed is that he put a gritty effort ... and crossed all the ice ... with some seconds left.

i'll post a vid when available.

Agree, I was following Josi too. Solid game.

Shea with the first goal of the tournament for Team Canada ... beat the goalie cleanly after one of the player's for Norway pulled the "flamingo"

Listening to the TV crew gush over Weber's slapper is why the Olympics cold put him back in the Norris Trophy talk.

Suter is an American so i'll pull for him and anyone else representing Team USA. Plus I don't hate the guy anyway like some people do.

Suter and Parise are both hated in my house. Since I'm half German, I'll pull for Josi and Moser. Switzerland is close to Germany and they speak the same language, sort of.

It was nice seeing Nystrom call this guy out on twitter for his last point. It's must read if you have twitter.

How about being Shea Weber in this tournament? Your whole career in Nashville you’ve never played with a better scorer than…I dunno, David Legwand (Nashville’s all-time leading scorer!)? Martin Erat? Alexander Radulov for an hour? I don’t blame him one second for signing that offer sheet that inevitably kept him with the Preds, but you have to think experiences like this are a breath of fresh air for him. He looked like he enjoyed today’s game, he scored a beauty, and he got to pass it hard without knocking over any of his Preds teammates, who over the years have been using their sticks as tripods to not fall down.

…Okay, that might be an exaggeration, but I do think he’s going to have fun playing with Canada’s

Awesome find! And great rebuttal. Poke fun at the small market southern team all you want, but this former Thrasher fan says 7 out of 15 is really good.

Another former Thrasher fan saying amen to that-

ONE playoff appearance

ZERO playoff wins

In ELEVEN seasons

Still boggles the mind

Moser played a fine game against Sweden.
Decent work in the offensive zone and great job in PK, blocking couple of shots, giving good pressure. All in all, good performance for what I saw.

Josi on the other hand was kind of invisible, but that's mostly due to Sweden controlling the puck most of the second period and not giving too much room in first or third either. Couple of good plays with the puck and good defensive game along the rest of the team.

Josi started to bring some serious effort at the end when Switzerland tried to catch up the 1-0 deficit. He even flashed some of that great puck handling skill he's got, deking couple swedes, bringing the puck to offensive zone and creating a scoring chance for the team in the last minutes.

Slow start today, so I hope he gets right on top of his game from the very beginning against Czech Republic tomorrow.

The game itself was one of the most entertaining I've seen so far.

It went further than what is above. I don't know how to link twitter but I will finish conversation.

Justin Borne: Haha, awwww, I kid, I kid, I love Nashville. But no franchise has a 15 year history with less top end scorers.

Nystrom: hockey is a TEAM sport, not individual, U know that. Glad Webby played well tho!!

Justin Borne: For sure man. But hey- you're supposed to be golfing with ma, quit reading this ****!

Nystrom: Didn't see game, wanted to read some analysis. Xoxo

end...

Your first paragraph is exactly what you want in a dman. What I watched he played very well and was being raved about by the play by play guys. I heard things like. "Josi is a superstar"

I watched the game this morning. Both Josi and Moser looked good and got great chatter from the talking heads.

Posters in the Swiss GDT are absolutely raving about Josi. Good to see other people finally realizing why he's so highly regarded around here.

Although most real hockey followers aleady knew how good Josi is.
