Well something as to be done soon or we won't be in the playoffs. The team isn't going anywhere and there's a bunch of unhappy players. It can't be good for a team.

And please Carbo, put Sammy back in the line-up when your team isn't scoring more than a goal per game...

As long as he is healthy, Forsberg would certainly make us a more dangerous team, but I still have a major concern about aquiring him. A lot his game these days seems to revolve around controlling the puck and making passes to teammtes who will then score. If he were to play for us at the moment, all he would do is control the puck, make the pass, watch someone screw up the shot and fail to score and then wait until he can get the puck back again. How does that help us?

Still, I'd like to get him here as long as we don't give up too much.

I would like to see the Habs add Kyle Calder as an energy forward.

I'd rather see RJ Umberger come over from the flyers instead of Forsberg. The coaching staff could help out big time on Umberger's defensive game skills. He'd be a good 2nd line centre for us in a couple years, if not next year, with help from Carbo, Muller and Jarvis.

We've already got Begin filling that spot excellently.

Even if we do make an offer, I doubt Forsberg would come to play here... I think he'd rather go back in the Western Conference. Maybe if we were still red hot like before christmas but not now... not with the kind of cold streak the team's having.

p.s. man i'm negative................

We'd have to pay out the nose in order to get him. You're looking at, at least a roster player, good prospect and a 1st round pick. That being said...I would love to have him on our team and would be willing to pay a big asking price.

Umberger is far from a defensive forward....it's his defensive game that could use help. We don't need a defensive liability. Umberger has the tools to become a good 2nd line centre for the team, if he can play some D while generating offense for the team...all the better.

Didn't Eklund put an almighty E3 on us getting Nagy?

I want Forsberg like you wouldn't believe, but I wouldn't want to jepordize our future years in a big way by going all in on him. Gainey's a smart man, which is why I'm reserving images of Forsberg in a habs jersey for my dreams. I can't see how we get Forsberg unless we give up a chunk of the team's future (which no GM would do except for Pat Quinn did consistently when he was Leafs GM).

The team needs something though. Maybe the fact that Forsberg's foot doctor is in Montreal plays in our favour..

Please Bob, be a seller. This team is going nowhere this year with it's present make-up.

Luce, the Flyers' director of player development, was engaged in a long pregame conversation with Montreal Canadiens scout Doug Gibson.

The Canadiens are believed to be one of about a dozen teams interested in putting together a trade package for Peter Forsberg.

"If there is a sweepstakes," Gibson said, "I imagine almost every team will be calling."

If the fact that his foot doctor is in Montreal is any type of motivation for him to come to the habs, I'd hire that doctor.

Umberger would be a nice addition. For sure Forsberg would be better, but I have to be realistic, Umberger would be nice.

Forsberg has been very good lately, if his foot isnt at 100%, he's sure playing like it is.

The Flyers are my #1 team, but the Habs are my #2, so I watch a lot of both teams, and I think that the Habs should look at Mike Knuble (who the Flyers really dont want to trade, but if the offer is right, I couldnt imagine them shooting down an offer). The Habs need a guy who will park himself infront of the net.

Also, about Umberger, he's hit a wall of some sort. He's in a soph. slump, which may be partially due to the fact that he centers the 3rd or 4th line on a bad team, but the Habs need vets who can contribute, not an RJ Umberger who could contribute in the future.

yuck, no thx, after the season he had, only way i would take him is if they take samsanov

if the habs were scouting them heavily why did he not just say
"joesph palmier, and 2 other habs scouts were at the philly game last night to check out the players..." ??!

he heard from a "source" that they were "scouting heavily" yeah ok...

as much as i doubt forsburg, he had 4 assists last night, i just wish he could stay healthy

and if the habs do make a move for him i hope they get more than him alone as a UFA, i would like something like Ellison and a 4th rounder in there in return for a package from the habs...
