mixed reports, but I know he definitely wants to play in the NHL eventhough he enjoys Russia a lot. If he gets a good offer he will definitely come over and play, it would be the best for him because he really doesn't have anything to prove in Russia. He could've been over this year, but the two sides couldn't get together on the money aspect as the Canucks only offered 700,000. I'm guessing he will be looking at around 2 yrs/3 million type deal from the Canucks this summer.

Not true. Comments like these lead to fans saying he will never come over, and that the Canucks will not be able to afford him anyways.

He was quoted as "happy" with the oneway 700,000 the Canucks gave him; however, he insisted on playing out his contract (this year) with his RSL team.

Looking forward to seing him at camp.

What's their ETA to the NHL? what's their potential?

In the name of Aki Berg let's show these Dmen some respect and start one off.
Jakub Kindl from Detroit. 39 points in 39 games in the OHL this season, after 58 points last season. He's only 19.

Are you a Red Wings fan, perchance?

Drew Doughty will be better than any of the other D prospects I've seen listed here....imo.

You are right about one thing. He doesn't belong anywhere near this topic.

Yeah, somehow that doesn't add up to 100%.

correct.... he was interviewed by Soviet Sport back in April and confirmed that he received a 1-way offer for $700K by Nonis (although personally surprising that Nonis offered him a 1-way deal), and that he had no problems with the offer, but had promised his coach he'd return for one more season as they had a good chance at the championship.

In the same interview he said that it's been his childhood dream to play in the NHL and definitely will come over next year (although "definitely" is not a certainty for many Russian players).

The positive note with him is that he has already made the attempt to come over once and did sign a contract with the canucks and played on the Moose... and before anyone jumps to conclusions on why he left, he went back because of his ailing mother and was not comfortable being overseas while she was fighting for her life - which I think everyone should sympathize with and understand.

Unless he's a complete flake, I'd say there's a very good chance he comes over - since he's said himself it's his dream to play in the NHL and has every intention of coming over next year.

Sorry, I meant to imply he's about a 99/100 in the offensive category and about 45/100 defensively. His offense has always been there, but he's drastically improved his defensive game compared to the previous two seasons.
