There's nothing disgraceful at all about loving the game so much that after your skills won't allow you to play professionally anymore the passion keeps you playing even at the Sr. A level.

He had far too much talent to be done at age 26. If he had any passion or love for the game he would have put in enough effort to stay in the NHL instead of a decade in minor leagues, Europe, and Cambridge.
