My one piece of advice is to avoid doing what my friend did which is to show up to the interview in a north face jacket and a hat.

Not worried about my appearance. Just trying to think how to convince them to hire me.

That may be appropriate depending on what the job is.

I just had a series of 3 interviews, and all 3 wanted a 2nd, so 6 in actuality. I was nervous at first but then got over it after the first couple of questions. Just be yourself and don't try to answer questions if you don't know the answers to.

Appropriate or not, you only get one chance to make a first impression. Suit up.

My advice, people can tell when you are just using "buzz" words to sound impressive. Speak more to your actual skill set and how you can bring success to the company.

Not in my industry. Unless you are interviewing to be an executive with one of the big companies or something, you just don't wear a suit.

Don't try too hard to be someone you're not. My wife and I run a business and hiring/interviewing is one of the fun things we get to do. Nothing is more irritating than hiring someone and then realizing they were totally bull-******** us at the interview.

Things that stick out as red flags during interviews for me:

Asking for too much money (we posted what the salary range was for a certain job and at least two people asked for a starting salary above it). This one's a no-brainer but you'd be surprised.

Trying to explain away a past firing or otherwise bad parting with a previous boss. No matter what, even if you were justified in leaving the job on bad terms, do NOT use them as a reference. Use a co-worker instead. I know it seems unfair, but if it comes down between that person and another candidate with maybe a little less experience in the field we want, we'll probably go with the "safer" candidate.

I'm late to the party concerning the 6 Nations Cup, but I DVR'ed France/England a while back and what an amazing game. So many damn lead changes and turnovers, now this is a true sport.

I like your avy shermy.

Completely OT but has anyone been to the WJC? I was thinking of going to next years tournament since it's right next door but have a few questions, do I have to buy the tickets in packages? I've seen prices like 2,000$ for like 15 games or something like that. Really all I want is like 5 games or so. SEPH,Hench, anyone been there?

Yeah I've been practicing ways to say things that I can prove instead of using those filler words

That game killed me. I zoned after Frances brilliant start, then got back into it as England came back, and BOOM the French ruin it and score again. I still think England has a chance of winning but its going to tough. Lots of good games to come.

And that Ireland All blacks game was crazy. I felt so sorry for Brian O'Driscoll he is such a legend of the game and it wasn't right he was forced off by injury. Then having to retake the kick at the end was great drama.
