Hossa's is actually, quite obviously, Mexican. hence the name of the song "Fiesta Mexicana"

actually it's not.
The guy isn't speaking spanish and Rex Gildo is German.
I don't speak spanish, but that sounds too rough to be spanish.

Rex Gildo (July 2, 1939 - October 26, 1999), also known as Ludwig Alexander Hirtreiter, was a German singer.

That's really weird. Why is the song about Mexico then?

Hossa, hossa, hossa, hossa

chorus

Hossa, hossa, hossa, hossa

Hossa

La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la ho ho
Fiesta Fiesta Mexicana, bald wird wieder alles so schön,

Ja du wirst sehn,
darum bin ich bald wieder da.

Hossa, Hossa, Hossa, Ho-he.

If someone can translate that. That's the lyrics.

A video of "The Hossa Song" along with "The Hossa Dance" he did against the Flyers would be gold.

seriously, if the guys over here in germany would find out that Rex Gildo´s song is slowly becoming a classic in new york it would be all over the news.

and yes Rex Gildo is a german singer, or at least he was.
committed suicide.
and that music genre is called "Schlager" in german, which is comparable to... id say country but its still different from country.
dont mind the lyrics, thats how music in germany works... you just need a catchy tune and one (hossa)or two words (ooh, aah, dschingis khan) every drunk is able to scream in the pub and there you got your hit. pretty simplistic but succesfull.
and no, i dont listen to this kind of music, but being born in this area you have to endure that stuff when you grow up.

Has anyone here ever heard of the band Wizo? They're a German punk band that was (still is?) on Fat Wreck Chords. They have a song called Tod Im Freibad; in the beginning the singer does this long yell followed by a "HossaAAA!!!".

I've always thought it would be awesome to hear that after Marcel scored a goal.

Man, nobody picks German songs from the 70's to represent players quite like the Rangers

Behold...Marcel's two biggest fans?

Also if anyone has Myspace, go to Rex Gildo's music page. On there, if you click "Add" under Fiesta Mexicana, you can add it straight to your itunes folder for free. I am trying to find a way to just loop the 'HOSSA!' part over and over if possible.
