Ya the Nashville fans asking for Hall Eberle Nurse and our 1st this year are obviously insane but there's no chance it'd take that little.

I'd look at something like Eberle, 2014 1st, Klefbom for Weber.

This is what Pronger got the Oilers in 2006: Joffrey Lupul, Ladislav Smid, a 1st round selection in 2007, a conditional 1st round selection and a 2nd round selection in 2008.

This is what Pronger got Anaheim in 2009: Joffrey Lupul, Luca Sbisa, a 1st round selection in 2009, a 1st round selection in 2010 and a conditional round selection in 2010 or 2011

Lupul hadn't accomplished what Eberle had accomplished prior to either trade. Lupul's value is higher than Gagner's, but not what a 2014 top 3 pick would be.

Would Smid and Sbisa's value be considered comparable to Klefbom now? All were 1st round picks past their draft years developing, so I wouldn't compare where they were drafted exactly.

The future 1st round picks values are good, but considering both teams were expected to be very good their coming years, I wouldn't say they were great.

The 2nd/conditional picks were be considered probably equal value to a 2014 2nd round pick.

That's probably not true, because I'd do Turris for Gagner in a heartbeat. Turris is a gamer.

Because of Gagner's contract, I think his value 1 for 1 is probably these players
-Tyler Ennis
-Nick Leddy MAYBE as you mention (although I don't like him defensively)
-Colin Wilson, although I wonder if Craig Smith would have similar value
-Adam Henrique, or Travis Zajac, although Lou likely values Zajac more
-Carl Gunnarsson, or maybe, Cody Franson

The value I'd hope he has is
-Sean Couturier
-Nazem Kadri

So in other words, I'm dreaming. Even if we added Musil to Gagner and even something else.

If that's all it would cost... Weber would already be an Oiler.

There's no way in hell a team in the East like oh I dunno.. PHILADELPHIA couldn't top that trade offer.

I'd do Gagner for Franson in a heartbeat.

Funny thing is a year ago it likely would have to be Franson+ to get Gagner but Sam's value is so low now it would likely have to be Gagner+ to get Franson coming back.

Franson is horrible, like potter bad. I would rather get Clifford (puke)

2014 is hardly nothing when your consider they'll be getting a franchise player with one of Ekblad, Reinhart, Bennett.

Which of their players are worth a top 3 pick? Now, do you think they include them in a package similar to this? The top 3 pick is the key.

I didn't know Turris was ripping it up in Ottawa. Haven't watched much of them this year but the games I did watch he didn't stand out.

By the sounds of it, he's eclipsed Spezza as their #1 center.

Always been a fan of Turris but to be fair, Spezza has played awful this year. Turris isn't and shouldn't be a first line center. He's suited for the second line spot.

With Tavares gone rest of season and Vanek soon to be gone, I think Oilers will leap frog Islanders and could end up picking 4th

Here's a few proposals I thought of. Let me know what needs to be added.

Hemsky + Arcobello to LA for Clifford
N.Schultz + Jones to Winnipeg for Frolik + Thorburn
Joensuu to Philadelphia for Mcginn

Possible Gagner deals:

To DET for Helm + 2nd
To NSH for Wilson
To CBJ for Dubinsky

Hall - Nugent-Hopkins - Yakupov
Perron - (Gagner trade) - Eberle
Clifford - Gordon - Frolik
Gazdic - Hendricks - Thorburn
Mcginn

Last thought, with the amount of cap room we have I think it'd be worth taking on some cap dumps (defenceman) with 1 year left.

Just like last year, two less wins and we could have had Seth Jones/Elias Lindholm/Sean Monahan.

If he got CBJ to give up Dubinsky for Gagner, MacT proceeds to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPO6dOPxmr8

I think Bogo from Winnipeg would be perfect he is 23 right shooting dman has size.

What would we have to give up to get him though?

Eberle but since they're winning now (look what good coaching does!) I think they me a little more reserved in terms of making deals. Buff is first to go and we could still use him.

It's too early to say that we would be better off with anyone but Jones or MacKinnon

Ya it will be interesting to see what the Isles do the rest of the season. They were already out of the playoffs as it was... now they may just go into tank mode and sell off some secondary pieces. You have to think Wang will be in budget mode seeing as he won't be getting any playoff money yet again.

I'm fine as long as we pick top three. I can't imagine us passing Calgary, but I can see the islanders losing every game for the rest of the year.

I think we'll end up passing Calgary, NYI and Florida. Say goodbye to Reinhart, Ekblad and Bennet. Only way we get a top 2 pick is if all of these things magically happen.

- Trade Gagner for Clifford
- Reacquire Dubnyk
- Season ending injuries to Scrivens and Hall
- Trade every UFA for prospects.

Now in the scenario that we finish 5th but win the lottery, who do you draft? Reinhart is looking like a stud #1C but Ekblad is what we need.

Who do you keep at the end of the year?

So with this year obviously being a write off, I'm curious who oilers fans feel that is currently playing should be here next year?

My list:

Forwards: Hall, Nuge, Yakupov, Perron, Eberle (maybe), Gordon, Hendricks, Gazdic

Defense: Marincin, Petry, J Schultz, Ference (maybe)

Goalie: Scrivens
