Kinda like JFJ. Could run wild in Junior, but got that one injury in pro and could never stay healthy enough to be an NHLer. Really makes it tough when drafting power forwards. Guys can do it in Junior, but who the hell can predict that they will get injury problems and never be able to keep up the same style of play?

To be fair to Pitlick, its not one thing over and over. He got pinched on the boards playing an NHL game and his knee was jammed.

I don't know that it really matters if it's one thing or 8 different things. Either way it's unfortunate and in this scenario it's really holding back a guys development.

I wonder if he's going to be one of those guys that dissapears and then at 27 or 28 comes back into the league and all of a sudden has a couple decent years simply because he has had some healthy seasons.

Nice to see Klef with his first goal, and +2. The Barons are really coming on.

Probably doesn't hurt having Arcobello back down there with 9 points in 4 games. I wonder if he has any value around the league as possible trade bait. I think he can definitely be a serviceable NHLer, but I just don't see it being with Edmonton due to his size.

Also glad to see Klefa get his first, hopefully that offensive game keeps developing.

Klefa scored a beauty, walked in from the point and hammered a one timer off a pass that was thrown into the slot and went by everyone.

It was instagrammed by the OKC Barons account I believe... if not, search TendTheFarm on twitter and Neal posted it.

This is pretty much the status quo, it seems. If OKC struggles the first half the year then Nelson always finds a way to get them firing on all cylinders post all star break. He always seems to get the most out of his troops around this time of year and they go on a rally.

The trade involving Martindale/Nesbitt for Pinizotto/Combs seemed to really benefit & spark the team. Here's to keep momentum going down the stretch!

This is the reason I really think Nelson is a good coach. He finds a way to create a winning team. Hopefully they didn't get going to late.

OKC always seems to be a late start team that pulls it together at the end of the season.

For EDM liked Arcobello, Davidson and Klefbom. Big period for Klefbom while OKC had to play PK for half the periof.

Barons lost a stinker. Took 8 or 9 penalties including 2 5on3 situations. Hard to win like that. Lost 4-3.

Lineup for today's game vs. the Marlies (Sportsnet 360 in 21 minutes...)

Fyten - Lander - Pitlick
Horak - Arcobello - Pinizzotto
Ford - Acton - Stretch
Kessy - Ewanyk - MacIntyre

Gernat - Fedun
Davidson - Hunt
Klefbom/Grebeshkov - Musil

Bachman

Hmm... If Klefbom doesn't play I probably won't watch.

Egregious giveaway from Klefbom there leads to a good chance for the Marlies and retained pressure.

Arcobello makes one of the worst plays i've seen in awhile. Don't know what he was thinking throwing a sharp pass into his own blue paint with Marlies swarming in front of Bachman. Leads to a goalmouth chance and a save.

3 games in 3 days will do this to you, but the Barons have opened up a bakery and turnovers are an all day special.

Klefbom loses his man, looks super confused and not anywhere in position above the circle in his own zone, has to recover and slash at Leivo's stick as Leivo has a chance at the side of the net. Klef then goes back into his zone to ring a puck around the board and gets pasted against the glass. Seasons 1-3 Smid-like level of awareness on that. He hasn't looked good this period.

MacIntyre with a kitten soft "hit" as he forechecks. Mind as well have blown him kisses and asked to hold the dude's hand.

Klefbom gets caught flat footed watching the play after what looks to be him trying to hug the boards in the neutral zone and stop a dump in. puck takes a hop and he lets his man walk into the zone past him. He does save a definite goal as one trickles back Bachman go into the net before Oscar clears it out of the zone. Takes a good quick half slap on net. I do enjoy watching him skate, but he hasn't looked positionally sound or aware this period.

1st period over.

The Dmen are probably all gassed from playing 50% of last nights game at 3v5 and 4v5. OKC couldn't stay out of the box.

Liked- Pitlick, Lander, Ewanyk, Gernat.

Especially Pitlick and Lander they were the only guys that really carried the play Ewanyk embraces the role of a 4th liner so well, he impressed me in his limited ice time.

Its probably the system... The Dmen are playing like our NHL Dmen..
After watching team Canada D coverage these guys look like Pylons who are always out of position.

The giveaways are Oilers early season bad. Right into the middle of the ice, right into the slot on attacker's sticks.
