That's not too bad. They still could have got him in the 5th round, though.

To me, that's not the argument I'll be considering as Goul develops. The question will always be whether he is the better option that the guys we know that the Flyers had higher on their own draft boards than Goulbourne who were still available at that slot.

You can speculate that Goulbourne is available in the 5th. He likely is, but I know who was available at his pick and we know by virtue of the leaked draft board who the Flyers scouts rated higher amongst those till available. That will be the more powerful evaluation for me.

That said, if Goulbourne can become a two-way contributor, it's a good pick regardless. If he becomes a fixture on the PK with those fighting abilities, it's also a fine pick. Long way to go to get there yet.

ASF said they wanted Terrence Amarosa in the 5th and were concerned he wouldn't be there in the 6th so they picked Goulbourne way early.

Morin with 1A (+1).

Laughton with 1G.

Gostisbehere with 1G + 1A after 2 periods in a 5-0 Union effort so far.

Good night all around.

Have to admit its extremely exciting to know that we have 3 potential stud dmen in the system. They all play a different style but Ghost,Morin and Hagg all look extremely promising. Add that to the fact we might have a legit #1 Goalie thats young and a promising Stolarz coming up lots to be excited about as a Flyers fan (as long as Homer doesnt trade them!)

Agree. Want to add that I am glad that even beyond the defensemen, they need to continue the trend of keeping and developing a higher percentage of selections. I understand trading some picks, but let's aim a little higher than the Kubina's of the world if we are giving away 2nd rounders.

Hägg had 2 assists for Modo J20 today. Now has 3 points in 2 games in the Top10-division and 3 assists in 2 games in the regular J20-season.

How many games do Laughton, Morin, Hagg and Ghost have left to play each?

Does anyone know if the Adirondack Phantoms game in Philadelphia tonight will be broadcasted anywhere? And an online stream link would be appreciated.

I'm not very familiar with Swedish ice hockey, but when did he get "demoted"? He had been playing for the senior club in SHL, hadn't he?

SHL has a break during the Olympics. They restart on Tuesday and he'll be back with the men's team then.

Laughton has 10 games left.

Morin has 10 games left.

Hagg has 6 SHL games left. (though he will play 1 more J20 game for sure tomorrow, and maybe a few more as well.)

Ghost has 3.

All 4 will be in the playoffs though most likely. (Union, Oshawa and Rimouski have already qualified, MODO are almost certain to be top 8 (8 points clear with 6 games left).

Would like to see him get up 22 or so.

Bourdon got hurt last night and didn't make the trip to Philly today. Awkward collision into the boards, and is having concussion symptoms again.

MAB out again with concussion like symptoms. He is going to need to think about his future. My guess is he is close to done.

Think there's a chance Hagg comes over to the Phantoms on a PTO once he's done in Sweden?

Sad but it was a matter of time IMO. You don't miss over a year with symptoms and come away 100 percent healthy.

No. Swedes don't do that. Next year, if he exceeds expectations and shows he's NHL-ready, he might get a trial run at the end of the season with the big club. That is very unlikely though. Assuming he doesn't go the CHL route (almost 0% chance), I think the earliest we see him in NA is the 15-16 season.

I agree with this assessment. I would expect Hagg to transition directly into the NHL when he comes over.

Yep I agree with you. It is nice to know we have young players in the pipeline who look like they will be nice additions in the near future, It looks like the brass have finely hit it right by drafting well, adding decent players in free agency, and trades where they do not break the bank and bust up the core of this team. The future looks very bright indeed.

I'm going to the Phantoms game tonight in Philly and wanted to watch the pre-game warm ups. Anybody know what time they normally start?

Poor Bourdon. Seems like all he wants to do is be a hockey player and these injuries are ruining that and potentially his life

most AHL arenas open up the doors an hour before the game.
