Emery had 12 wins in the month of March tying an NHL record. He did that without the likes of Redden,Chara and Volchenkov for most of it. Remember how Meszaros and Pothier were playing 30 minutes a night.

By my count that leaves Corvo and Preissing about 15 minutes each of ice time when the team is healthy.
He was brought (and paid) to be a top-4 guy. After Volchenkov's sub-par performance last season, Corvo came in ahead on teh depth chart. He started the season in that capacity (and would have whether Redden was injured or not) but he lost that spot due to poor play on his part and stellar play by Anton.
