Rangers - IN or OUT of playoffs

Time for a new poll every week or so to see what the consensus is: will they make it or not? Hard not to have a little extra optimism after a convincing 5-0 win.

The COP line is back together, so my vote is: they'll make it.

Still out.

Im always the pessimistic when it comes to this stuff. Please prove me wrong.

We win then next 3 games..who knows....maybe these lines (minus Orr, plus Dupcis (sp?) ) will make us a great team..and Lundqvist goes bananas like he has been for the rest of the season..who knows...but fact is the odds are currently against us.

in as 6th seed. i predicted it at the start of the year and I still think it will hold. But then again I also predicted 7th and 8th to be pens isles. Actually, for an October prediction im doing pretty good! Except that whole Montreal winning their division thing

But really, too much talent, a win streak is imminent especially with some of the teams we're ready to play. In at 6th seed. Rangers Thrashers first round oh man that would be an interesting matchup. I'd love to see Bobby Holik get smushed (if its possible)

I think it's still too early to tell. It all on depends on if they get hot, which I hope that they will. If they can string a couple 4-5 game win streaks together, then they will make the playoffs but if not, it will close.

Next sunday against Chicago. Not that I'm in favor of pulling Lundqvist but we should give him a rest somewhere along the line.

In the back to back games against Philly and Chicago. If we're on a roll offensively then i refuse to believe Chicago or Philly can outscore us, even with Weekes in net. Those two days give a 4 day rest to Hank for the two jersey games coming up. Even if we're not doing that great i still think Weekes plays those games. Rest Henrik for Jersey.

I think its a complete toss up, given the streaky nature of the rangers' play. If they can get it together, find some chemistry, and consistantly come to play like they did last night, I see no reason why they can't squeak into a playoff spot. On the other hand, however, if recent trends continue and the team fails to come to play a full sixty minutes every night, I sincerely doubt that there is any chance of it. As it's always been, the decision lies entirely with the team.

I said yes in the last poll and I will continue to do so untill they are mathmatically out of the race.

Still not convinced. A lot of work has to be done, and they need to make last night's win legit. No more "win a couple, lose a couple." Get a nice streak going and I'll change my mind.

I voted no from a realistic point of view, but as a fan of the team, I always like to think it is possible

Sorry that this was a dupe post - the other playoffs poll started on Feb 3 and has been open since then I believe. This one was for only 3 days. Results:

53% say IN (75 votes)

Two other similar polls:
on HockeyBird for same days: 53% say IN (49 votes)
The Ranger poll on HF from Feb 3: 73% say OUT (112 votes)

I want to start another poll in a week or so to get the latest consensus, but it looks like they are trending up. Interesting that HF and HB boards both voted the exact same percentage. I wonder how many people voted in both.
