Oilers Return on Thursday vs. Wild

Before the Olympic break, the Oilers finished on a streak of 5-1-1 and playing relatively well.

A few extra days of practice meant that Dallas Eakins has been implementing more system stuff and more work on a dismal power play.

I figured over the next few days (now that the Olympics are over) we will get lots of minor Oilers news. New Line Combos maybe, New Power Play alignments so on and so forth.

For your convenience here was the line up for our last game vs the Devils.

Taylor Hall - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - Nail Yakupov
David Perron - Sam Gagner - Jordan Eberle
Matt Hendricks - Boyd Gordon - Ales Hemsky
Luke Gazdic - Ryan Smyth - Ryan Jones

Nick Schultz - Justin Schultz
Martin Marincin - Jeff Petry
Mark Fraser - Andrew Ference

Ilya Bryzgalov
Ben Scrivens

Oilers Next 3 games:

Thursday Feb. 27 vs. Wild
Saturday Mar. 1 vs. Flames
Tuesday Mar. 4 vs. Senators

Note: NHL Trade Deadline is March 5th

Discuss..

Good team to start against.

Harding was just placed on IR and Koivu is injured

It's going to be so depressing watching our defense after enjoying the clinic TC put on at the Olympics

Truly, after the last couple of games for TC, would rather watch women's hockey than this.

Or, the Oilers were 5-1-1 because Scrivens was playing like a bunch of coked-up goalie-ninjas.

I'm looking forward to the game!

I'm tired of this defensive play thing.

Luckily, Oilers are unsure of what that means.

lol. well said.

I really hope the oilers finish strong. Joking aside, this team has to show it is going to take a step forward going into next year.

It's the first time he's seen himself in the mirror while wearing an Oiler jersey.

Only thing I'm interested in now are (1) who, if anyone, will be moved, and (2) whether or not this "mini-camp" will do anything to improve the team performance.

Other than some light info talking about how they were able to watch the semifinal and final games, there hasn't been any discussion (as I have seen) of any different tactics or looks that Eakins has brought to the table and how they've been received.
