10-15 minutes to the arena. If it matters to you at all, the walk across the bridge between LP Field and downtown (Shelby Street Bridge) has a lot of good views of the skyline.

Any other Catbirds making the trip?

Any locals got any good restaurant tips ? BBQ, Gastro Pub, Farm to Table?

Def going to Princes and Hattie Bs and ML Rose.

Pissed I won't be able to hit up Yazoo since the game overlaps with the Sat Tasting..any other good breweries?

Also..best place to pre-game before hand?
I take it you're going to be at the one on Franklin Rd, not the one in West Nashville ... PM me when you show up, I'm literally a block and a half away

Def going to Princes and Hattie Bs. Pepperfire is also a good choice

Pissed I won't be able to hit up Yazoo since the game overlaps with the Sat Tasting..any other good breweries? Yazoo is the best, Jackalope a distant second. Corsair is a distillery you can tour

Also..best place to pre-game before hand? Broadway Brewhouse, Piranhas, Buffalo Billiards.

Having a hard time deciding which hotel to book, and from what online service. We're looking at spending under $80 total for the night. Any suggestions?

Hmm, the big sign on the corner opposite the arena had ads for $5 MCC parking.

That's for when no events are going on, when there is an event, they have workers take your money when you go in, vs non events you just take a ticket, then pay when you leave.

I would say for that price, your best bet is going to be any number of the hotels over near the Nashville International Airport.
Not knowing your exact details, I just searched for a single room for just tomorrow night on expedia.com and hotels.com and there were several near the airport around $45- $85/night.

Just a few examples:
Super 8; http://www.expedia.com/Nashville-Hot...-f0dd9c4300fc&

Red Roof- http://www.expedia.com/Nashville-Hot...-f0dd9c4300fc&

Staying within walking distance of the arena gets expensive in a hurry. Luckily, I had frequent flyer miles to burn.

Then that's some false advertising. I saw the sign a number of times while walking to the arena from a bar on Broadway.

...or maybe it's smart, people go over thinking it's $5, then get there and have no choice but to pay it and park.

Oh well, doesn't matter to me though, I buy the pass for the library garage.

I went Piranhas yesterday and I always forget how good the place can be. Yeah they have bar food, but it's 'that' place with just complete and utter gluttonous bar food that sometimes you just want to have, while still actually tasting good. It's a smoky little dive bar on 2nd Avenue a half block from Broadway. It's really small so there's not a ton of room but it's a good choice.

Broadway Brewhouse has a lot of beers and a lot more room. I don't eat there often so i can't speak to their food.

BTW, has anyone noticed that Bailey's has changed its setup lately? I was in there on a Friday three weeks ago and there's bartops where the tables on one side used to be and an acoustic band was playing in the corner. The TVs still showed all the sports and stuff but it was laid out differently. I assume that wasn't a one-time thing.

I wouldn't call Broadway Brewhouse touristy at all.

With that, I WILL say, that on a Saturday game night, Paradise Park is a very interesting vibe. It's a straight-up honky-tonk music bar but it's mostly Preds fans. It's a really intriguing clash of cultures in theory. The "touristy" places are pretty easy to pick out.

Least touristy? Broadway Brewhouse but it can get crowded. Piranhas. Buffalo Billiards tons of non-quarter pool tables. The Beer Cellar. Riverside Tavern.

I've never been a fan of Baileys but I have noticed their redesign.

I think the Bailey's re-design was due to fire they had there a month or 2 ago.

Me and the girlfriend will be in town tonight for the game, we're looking for a meat and potatoes kind of place downtown, is Demo's good for that or should we look elsewhere?

You cannot go wrong with Demo's- we are from Birmingham and we eat there almost every single time we go to a game. They have a huge menu but steak and spaghetti are the specialties.

As a matter of fact, we are coming up for the game today and will be eating there if we can make it up there on time.........

i dislike flying saucer

sure, their beer list is extensive but when it takes me about 6 beer choices before I find one they have in stock they're doing something wrong.

maybe that's what i get for trying to order really obscure IPAs.

Tonight was my first time in Nashville for the Pens game. I just wanted to say it was a great experience and I'd love to come back to your city in the near future. And I hate country music, but the downtown area was great. We ate at Demo's (which was fantastic and fast!) then went to the game and I didn't get any chirps at all wearing my pens jersey which is rare at an away game. Class Acts and an A+ experience to Nashville and the fans. Well done.

Visitng Nashville

If you are a fan of craft beers, Brewhouse on Broadway is a great place to get local beers as well as regional craft beers. The atmosphere on game days is pretty awesome as well. Prices are about average for what you would find anywhere else. The food is great, but more along the lines of bar food. Only a couple blocks down from the arena. If you are there on a weeknight, you will find that post-game is easy to get in and out of. I will say that if you're coming to town for the first time you need to hit up The Stage or Tootsys at least once.

Hey Preds fans, about 6-8 of us r comin down from Columbus for the game this weekend. Anxious to have a great time in the music city and partake in a game outside of Nationwide. Have a couple of ?'s, is the chicken n waffle sandwich worth it in the Arena? Been researching the vendors and was eyeballing that or the bacon mac n'chesse from the Food Network stand? Also I assume the best place to find an assortment of Yazoo or other Tennesee brews is at Music City Taps in 119. Luckily we will be in 118 so that will be close : ). If u c the spot the 1 guy in a cbj Lyle Odelein #4 jersey that night don't be afraid to say HI as the darth vader series will always live on.
