Khaira, Moroz and Chase are all 2012 draft picks and should all be 20 by next season..
Edit: Chase will still be 19... Jan 1995 born

Khaira can any time. He wasn't drafted out of the CHL.

Chase was a 2013 pick too.

Would not really mind Chase returning to CHL next year... probably bags 100 points and sits near top of the league leaders... he can then jump up easily to the pro game instead of being rushed like most of our kids...

Chase is not making the oil next year so he has to go down.

The point is moving these kids up to play against men is not always the best thing to do. We did that with Pitlick and Hamilton and it did not work out with them.

ECHL is a good step for the kids that have little to prove in Juniors or are playing in KHL.
Khaira, Moroz, Yakimov and Slepychev should all be playing in ECHL next season if possible.
Nurse has very little to prove in CHL but due to his age will probably end up back there for another season. Pitlick and Hamilton went straight to AHL and got eaten up by the depth... ECHL shouldve been the start for them easing their way into AHL instead of playing as 4th liners\PB duties for Barons.

AHL or KHL for Yak and Slep, imo.

They'll get far better development there than the ECHL.

Kyle Platzer plays on Sportsnet at 5:00 today, good chance for Westerners to get a look at a very intriguing prospect.

11 goals in 19 games since being dealt, pretty impressive.

It's even more impressive when you consider the next most talented forward on his team is about the equivalent to Boyd Gordon too.

Hopefully we get to see it tonight, this kids shot is NHL quality already it's accurate and an absolute bullet.

Here's a link to his 2 goal performance against Kingston from a few weeks back.

Go to game highlights the the Feb 14th game vs Kingston

I just watched them again and WOW, exceptional release.

Platzer just inches away from a second assist. Gabriel rang it off the post.

Attack really outworking the Knights tonight.

Greg Chase had no points tonight, but had one of the better showings in all my viewings (I have approximately 12 viewings of Chase). His vision and passing ability are nothing short of exceptional at the junior level, despite not converting, numerous times tonight he set up a line mate with a gorgeous tape to tape pass. His board play down low was good tonight against a very sizeable Blazers squad. He was hard on the forecheck and pressured the D into making mistakes. In his own zone Chase rarely looked out of place and in one instance broke up a potential goal on a Blazers 2 on 1.The best part of Chases game tonight was his pest game, he was running his mouth all game, at one point the broadcast's mic picked up him chewing out the ref after a non call. Later in the game Chase goated Blazers forward Joe Kornelson into a roughing minor, Chase was running his mouth, Kornelson took acceptation dropped his gloves and jumped Chase, Chase turtles the refs jumped in and broke things up giving Kornelson the only penalty, the camera zoomed in on Chase on the bench with a giant smile on his face. Stuff like that drives opponents crazy. Along with running his mouth all game Chase was crashing the net on every play and starting scrums everywhere. Some small complaints about Chase would be that he tends to pass up shots in order to feed his teammates, he doesn't posses an overly potent shot, and can sometimes take untimely penalties. Small complaints IMO. The entire game the broadcast crew were raving about Chase and were as stunned as most of us are that we got him in the 7th round. I know it's early but I can't help but feel Chase was an exceptional pick by the Oil and I think if I had to make the choice between our 2nd rounder Marco Roy and 7th rounder Chase, I would have to say I would take Chase.

Ok that was a lot but I'm just very impressed.

Kyle Platzer was one of the few guys that really stood out in the Penticton Rookie tournament.

That being said for an organization that has been dreadful for the last couple of yearas we really don't have too much to show for prospects. The Edmonton squad in Penticton got beat bad.

Thanks for that. I didn't have a chance to see the game.

Jordan Eberle draft +1 61gp 35 39 74
Greg Chase draft +1 63gp 31 45 76
Add to the fact that he’s already listed between 6- 6’1 195-205 and known for his physicality/grit AND he’s a centre, I think that there’s a chance that he could be a legit top 6 player. Just imagine us with 6’1 215 pound centre putting up 50-60 points a year.

Thanks for posting. I'll definitely be tuning into that Everett - Victoria game.
