Rumoured fight in Habs Dressing Room

On my way to the gym, I listened to Pierre Page and Christian Tetrault (Radio-Energie) and it was 5:48am and Page said that he learn from one source that there was a fight in the Habs dressing room Saturday night, after the game, and it led to the players-only meeting.

He said that one player jumped on Kovalev and that's the reason Kovalev did not play the following game (he was hurt during the fight). He also said that Pedneault is working on the story, trying to find a second source to confirm that.

Have you heard the same story somewhere else?

I would change the title, it makes it sound definative. If you get a confirmation, you can re change it.

I wouldn't be surprised. This team is in complete chaos from top to bottom.

Not sure where they got the idea they should fight each other. Maybe there was a sign posted somewhere that they should fight for each other and Crosby or someone removed the 'for'

If this were to be true, I'm not entirely sure how to feel about it. I'd like to know the full and accurate details first though.

guess Bob was right. Expect the unexpected.

Or that they hate each other. Fighting on the ice is one thing but fighting in the dressing room is different.

If it's true, I hope that player is banned.

Don't think it is though.

God help anyone who believes this story. Another stupid search for drama, like the Carbo thread. As if anyone's going to "beat up" Kovalev because of his recent play.

Right after the game, Kovalev started to brake his sticks in the dressing room because he was benched during the 3rd period....It is possible that one player told him to seat the f!@@##@ down and to start backchecking once in a while.... So I don't think it is far fetched.

I agree. I wanted to beat him up after he took that penalty during our 5-on-3 vs. Florida.

I kinda hope this is true, maybe we'll be moving Kovalev and his huge contract for someone younger, cheaper and who is willing to play to win.
It's time for some drastic changes here in Montreal....we should tear things down and re-build the whole team.
Say good-bye to Kovalev, Ryder, Rivet, Souray or Markov, and possibly Koivu. We need a leader on this team, someone who will stand up and tell people what their doing wrong and someone who will lead by example on the ice.

Come on Bob....you can do it....it'll be worth it in the long run.

Yeah, deal our best assets to go further in the playoffs, what a brillant idea.

I also hope it's true. I always admired Kovalev's skills nut this year he really is disapointing in all aspects of his game. His selfish attitude must be a source of confilct in the team. He doesn't seem interested in making the team go forward. A change of scenery could be benificial for him and the team...

We never did squat with those assets. This is ther FOURTH coach as well.

There is a time when we have to admit that he did not work out with certain player and start over. Maybe that time has come.

Exactly. Something like this could very easily of happened. Considering the situation and the state the team is in, a fight is not that far fetched.

correct me if im wrong, but wasnt Kovy one of the only guys that actually took interviews after the game...and he seemed as if he understood the benching and was talking very professionally...Its just hard to believe that he would even agree to an interview if everything that was said above happened...I dunno...just my thought on it

Yeah because the way the team is playing, we're gonna MAKE the playoffs and everything. There is no team aspect on the Habs right now. Players are playing for themselves and they are losing because of it. If we make the playoffs this year, we'll be out in 4 straight games, so why not call it a year and start tearing the team apart so Bob can make some much needed moves before the trade deadline and in the off-season.
I would rather they do that then to continue to watch the same players under-achieve year after year.

You're right!!!! And the 4 coaches we had weren't exactly bad coaches either, I just think that there are a few core players that want to go out and play whatever style they want to play and have no intentions of listening to a coach. It's time to dump these selfish players and start building a team for the future. We thought the players we have now would be the future for the Habs, but we are seeing that the future is going to be very unproductive if we keep the core we have now.
I say dump whoever you can Bob and start over....you can do it...you have the smarts to make it happen.

That's actually a very good point.
