"It is our situation, our circumstance," said Rangers coach Tom Renney, whose team is 5-2-1 in its last eight road contests. "These last few games we've been in a position to put our foot down even farther and have done that. It just seems like we're on a mission, and the big thing here is to create some momentum."

This actually should be a good game. The only question is if the layoff hurt us. If it didnt, we should win this one.

I'm getting a 6-pack of Sam Adams after work, gonna tape the office, and sit back and enjoy this game.

Maybe the biggest game of the year.]

A must win, or we have no chance catching up to the teams ahead of us.

Come out firing boys! Rangers win 4-2 on goals by Jagr, Straka, Prucha & Hossa.

first post ... only been a rangers fan since last year, but i do know enough to say that since they'll probably have to win over 2/3 of the rest of their games, winning tonight in regulation would be a really good idea

im guessing that Pock will be a healthy scratch again Well, at least a younger player took his place. Girardi looks really good since called up. Maybe Sather should resign Pock and then deal him, since he would have a little more value.

Most rediculous thing I've heard this week. What mathematical formula did you use to come up with this?

Granted, this game is HUGE. But we'll still have over a quarter of the season to go, and the team will still only be out by a few points. Let's not get carried away.

This game is gigantic. Biggest of the year, as they continue to get bigger and bigger.

My thinking is the Rangers can only afford to lose 10 more times this year.
Which means if they lose 5 out of the next 10 or so and play .500 hockey forget it, its done.

So the next 6 games they only can lose 2.

Carolina
Philly
Chicago
Devils
Devils
Columbus

Its possible, but seeing that they play the Devils twice in the next 6, it makes this game even bigger tonight.

Rangers - 59 Points
Carolina - 65 Points

After tonight a regulation win either way could make it 61 - 65 or 59 - 67.

I honestly believe if the Rangers lose this game tonight, theyll have to win 4 out of the next 5 to stay in it or maybe even 5 of 5 depending on what the other team do.

Go get a win boys.

Winning tonight will only make things easier for the team. Losing, however, is not the end of the world.

Nothing will happen. Based on last year PO shocker Sather stacks the Ds up. It will be up to Pock to decide in the summer. Sather, as usual, will low ball the guy...

I predict Rangers will win in OT.

Pck will be a RFA... i feel really sorry for him, i really do... his career is going NOWHERE with the Rangers :-(... with players like Baranka and Staal pressing for roster spots next year and commitments to staying defensemen, he looks like the odd one out...

This is one they can afford to lose. No, I am not playing the normal fan role of "they are gonna get dominated tonight", but it's not the end of the world if they don't win tonight.

First off, Carolina overtaking Atlanta will help the Rangers in the long run.

Second, After tonight PHI, CHI, NJ, NJ, CBJ. 8 in a row sounds nice but a "correction" tonight wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

This team gets too used to winning too easily, I still am concerned there really isn't a sense of desperation.

Big game, should be fun, NY has to play like they have been and give 60 minutes of effort. Birthday goal and win for Jagr would be nice too.

Agreed, He is good, young, devolping player, that should be in the lineup, playing over Malik. I know definatly he is going to another team after this year.
