I think if Halk comes in we could see a repeat of 1986 and 1993. Does any one else believe?

I think you are asking a lot of one player to come in and change everything around for us to make the playoffs. But OH MAN...wouldn't that be the story of the year in the NHL???

Those teams could score.

Even perfect, Halak would register countless shutouts only to loose in the shootout...

Even if Halak is called up, he won't get any starts.. Carbs will stick with Aebischer.

Unless Halak can get a SO every night and can score in the opponent's net he can't save the habs.

Still. P.Roy was Con Smythe in his rookie season + stanley cup winner. Anything is possible. Don't care how good our team was then, rookie goaltender winning the stanley cup is p i m p

That's pretty much how I feel too. They're 8-15-1 since Christmas and have gone from challenging for first to clinging to a playoff spot by a thread. The current group of players aren't getting the job done. It's time to start throwing **** at the wall to see what sticks.

Last time I looked we haven't been blown out of many games............so Goaltending ISN'T the problem.

Problem is PUTTING PUCKS TO THE NET! We need a couple proven snipers..........guys who can go uot night after night and pick up points even when the team is having an off night.

Most teams have one or 2 guys who are always on the scoresheet.

Problem is Carbo and Gainey were both basically defensive forwards, and have brought that into the gameplan..............

Proven Snipers:

Kovalev
Samsonov
Ryder
Higgins(i wouldn't say fully proven, but proved much)
Koivu (good playmaker and goal scorer)

These are all people that if you look at their stats, they're "proven" snipers. They aren't exactly Marian Hossa or Dany Heatley but very few people are. It's not about learning how to put the puck in the net. It's about learning how to play properly. Since when is MTL a dump and chase team? MTL is supposed to be a speed team. I cannot believe this dump and chase garbage I see every night.

SPECIAL NEWS ALERT: Dump and Chase rarely works effectively in the new NHL.

SPECIAL NEWS ALERT: Carbonneau better get our team back to the way they were and accept that it's been mostly his bad coaching decisions or he's going to get fired.

Do you have Beyoncé pictures from SI magasine ?? She's smoking HOT. Nice website , looks real nice.

As for Halak i don't think he can save the Habs, the problem right now is the offense and indiscipline.

boring thread no offense

in the sense that im happy that halak will play at least one nhl game buti could go with abby as our goalie in the playoffs if huet is injured long-term and have no prob with that... the team has to shoot more as in intensive explosive shooting and goals will come...

we need a proven scorer who shoots all day long to get into the playoff groove
