Line-mates for Forsberg?

Kariya seems like a natural fit, but who will play on the right side?

I don't know if you break up the 9, 10, 11 line they play so well together, however Hartnell and Leggy have always played well together too.

I just don't think we want Forsberg playing huge minutes until the playoffs. If we can keep him limitted at es now with Harts and Radulov and give him pp time, he might stay healthy longer.

I would say you drop Forsberg between Hartnell and Radulov. As to not mess with the chemistry the team has while give the third line the true center they need and also limiting the load on the magical ankles.

Sorry didn't see this until after I posted.

I don't know that I feel comfortable thinking the same as you at the same time as you.

I agree Trigg..but you know Trotz is going to mix things around for a while to see where the true chemistry is gonna be.

Hartnell and Radulov could be a poor man's version of Gagne and Knuble.

I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that he centers Harts and Radulov(though it would be a great fit,) but I don't see him between Kariya and Erat either...as you have essentially three playmakers on a line. I'd be curious to see what he could do with Sully and Dumont.

I'd like to see Forsberg center Hartnell and Radulov just to see if he jump starts that line. Forsberg feeding Radulov with hartnell camped out in front of the goalie should get things done.

But let's not get too excited about lines right now, because Trotz will probably need to have Forsberg center Smithson and Nichol with Fiddler between Radulov and Hartnell until Tootoo gets healthy and we have to start making some decisions on how to fit Fiddler in with our chemistry.

foppa can play LW too. so no need to demote legwand to 3rd line.

No one is suggesting demoting Legwand. Like has been said, Forsberg and kariya\erat doesn't make sense, and using Forsberg as a wing doesn't make sense for us either. We'll see what happens over the next few games.

Foppa can but I wouldnt put him there...Hartley played him on Wing and he wasnt to comfortable in fact prolly the best move Granato did was put him back at Center. And to be honest I think Arnott is as close to Knuble as u can get so Foppa playing alongside Arnott and perhaps Kariya would be deadly.

I think 3rd line duty would do Forsberg (and obviously the Preds) a world of good, at least for the remainder of the regular season. Playing with Harts and Rad on that 3rd line would probably see them matched up against our opponent's 2nd or 3rd pair Dmen and away from their top checking forward unit (can't see many teams taking their checking line away from Kariya-Legwand-Erat).

This would keep Forsberg's minutes a tad lower than he normally plays but the wear and tear on his body/ankles specifically would be a bonus. I'd love to see Forsberg with the puck in the corner/half boards, Hartnell moving in/out of the slot for tips/tap ins and Radulov sneeking around to unload a one-timer (as noted, probably the natural talent on the team when 'in the game'). All this against the other teams' 2nd or 3rd lines.

I'm here outside Birmingham and I heard the whoops coming from up north. I had to check here because I knew it could only be REAL PREDATOR fans in crazed delirium!!

Kariya didn't seem to have much chemistry with Forsberg when he was with the Avs, although he didn't seem to have much with anybody that year unfortunately. Congrats on getting the best player in hockey, and hopefully he will stay healthy for you. If he is he will dominate in the playoffs.

according avs fans, forsberg and kariya played maybe three games together.

and there's no guarantees that they'll even play together here.

I just keep laughing about a fourth line of Nichol, Fiddler, and Smithson.

The only time they'll get is PK time. If you throw Zanon into that mix you almost have all of your pk sitting next to each other as specialists just waiting for someone to take a penalty.

I really think Erat would be a terrible fit on Forsberg's wing. He is a puck hog, and with Forsberg on a line, you want HIM carrying the puck. If we had to have Forsberg with Kariya, I would want Hartnell to take Erat's spot. Really, I think Forsberg would have the most chemsitry with the guys on the third line or Steve Sullivan.

Forsberg can really play with anyone, I'm confident that Trotz won't overwork Forsberg and will have him be a PP specialist for the rest of the year.

I'm going to guess that we ease him onto our team and start him off with Hartnell and Radulov. That way we don't overwork him and let him get accustomed to our play.
