lmao keep hallucinating.

Upshall >> Lapierre

Parent >> Fischer (at the moment

This is a huge overpayment by Nashville, considering Forsberg is still injured and not 100%, has talked about retirement, let alone signing anywhere. And lets not forget Forsberg already played with Kariya in Colorado and they stunk it up.

Only good thing about this from Nashville's perspective is that you have so much depth in the squad and the minors that you won't even notice what you traded.

I agree, but with their INCREADIBLE depth at defense (Hamnuis, Weber, Suter, Franson, Laakso, Parent, Klein).... they won't suffer from trading one or two of them.

Sorry but I don't see Parent as a great prospect. He is a solid defensive defenseman prospect but I don't think you can be extremely excited by this guy.

Scottie Upshall is nothing more than a average physical winger. He was a good prospect a few years ago but he fails to reach his full potential.

I think that was too much for Gainey. Wouldn't want to compromise our "future". I'm getting tired of hearing about our "future". It's been how many years since the habs have been past the second round in the playoffs?

This was a good deal for both teams. Upshall could not get ANY minutes in Nashville, he was pretty much considered a bust. Their first round pick is gonna be a low one in a garbage draft. Parent stings but they have TONS of depth.

Who do they get in return? The best playoff performer of the last 10-15 years.

I think that for a few reasons, one whos knows if he is going to resign
secondly if he does want to resign i think the McCabe contract is the one to look at 5 million plus per season. Just to much money i like souray alot but markov needs to signed first. with 4 ufa defeceman at years end. we would get a good young defenceman who can step in our lineup immediately. lots of money saved and i think we lack good young defencman who can play right now or even next year.

Souray's value is agurable at its highest point right now even if he is potentially a rental. we don't have many other players with any sort of fair trade value. the other ufa palyers we have aren't gonna get much if anything in return. other than Markov and Souray.

This team is in no position to be trading for Forsberg, and you're kidding yourself if you thought it was going to happen. I'm sure Gainey did his best, but we're still a fringe playoff team...nowhere close to legitimately challenging for the Cup.

we cant give up that type of return to the FLyers for a rental of 23 games because were on the cusp of crashing and burning face the facts .

We are the FLyers in the making (falling apart) due to injuries etc .

If big PF wants to sign here in the offseason my arms are wide open .

Until then its a bargin basment stanley cup run here in Montreal in 2007

Where is that defensemen(Simpson) we picked up last year for the streach run from the Blackhawks go gettem boys

Forsberg also has a no trade clause in his contract. If you had the choice between cup contending Nashville or a team about to fall out of the playoffs with the Leafs winning tonight, who do you pick?

Kariya - Forsberg - Dumont
Sullivan - Arnott - Erat
Hartnell - Legwand - Radulov
Hordichuk/Fiddler - Nichol - Tootoo

Timonen - Hamhuis
Suter - Zidlicky
Vishnevski - Weber

Vokoun
Mason

I would take their third line before our first one.

You People are Nuts!

For the love of god people, we never had a shot a Forsberg!!!!!

He had a no trade clause he lifted for a pretty good team that has a legit shot at the cup!

Why oh why would Forsberg come to Montreal when we have been one...if not WORST team since the all-star break!

He wants to WIN a cup, not golf in April!

Well we are not a position to get a rental, it would be a mistake. I mean 8th int he east dosen't even garentee yet a playoff spot, so to go and pay the big price for a rental would be stupid at this point.

Well that injured player will have more points than Koivu and Kovalev at the end of the season.

If you can listen carefully.. You can hear Glen Sather calling the Flyer's GM over the availability of Ryan Parent.

Up to 3-4 weeks ago montreal looked like a nice spot. And it was said that he was willing to wave his NC for a few teams wich included montreal. But the way the team slipped I'm pretty sure he scartched us of his list...and for the price the flyers apparently got I guess montreal would have scratched him of their list too.
