As a Flyers fan, I wish your team nothing but the best in the Playoffs. I hope Forsberg helps you win the Cup. I hope his health stays good for you guys. Plus you guys paid a pretty price for a rental, I hope it works out since Forsberg is likely going back to Philly in the summer.
And has more playoff experience than just about everyone on the team.
If you think what we paid today was too much what would it have cost 8 years ago, let alone the fact that 8 years ago what exactly would the Preds have that they could offer for Forsberg?
Anything short of the GM's 1st born would have been a gross underpayment and even then the avs get hosed because theres no guarantee Poile's kid turns out for the avs.

Its being reported that he had a blow up with Mang yesterday. I doubt he's going back
horrid trade for Nashville. Forsberg he always hurt, check his stats.
You gave up way to much IMO.
I believe this is a move to get the Nashville public more involved in the team...and if it saves the team.. then good for hockey.
his injuries, for a couple of months now, were reported to be due to a skate issue that the flyers\forsberg seem confident is in the past. Poile isn't a gambler, he never has been...if he made such a huge deal, I have a feeling he's spoken to Forsberg and his doctors.

You are correct, but you should also know that he's been searching for a skate for years. (hopefully he found one the past few weeks)
I like how many people on this board and most of the game commentators on center ice tonight are saying we overpaid for Foppa. I'm sure if their team had picked him up(especially the ducks and Sabres ) they wouldn't be squawking nearly as much.
We gave up a lot in 3 firsts but one hasn't panned out, another is a prospect at a position that we all knew we would trade from, and the third has yet to even happen yet. I really don't see how this hurts our future so it makes good sense to me.
Garret... as to why? If Avery is your teams big deadline pick-up I can see how you would be a little jealous.

You know they have to pile it on, since they have to dog us about everything else.
Well...well.... Foppa in Music City!! Kudos to Leipold and Poile for taking the risk now, only possible by building this organization to such a level in a patient way.
Good value for Philly ,...but Suter, Weber and Rads all stay...And we can afford to give the rest.
The guy's have to be excited knowing what is coming their way...
Now the question is...does this make the front page tomorrow in the Tennessean?
You guys seem to be excited about this trade... i'm not trying to piss anyone off, but I honestly think you got hosed with this trade.
Being a Sabres fan i would be very unhappy with a trade like this. Nasville being the run and gun team that they are should have gone for a different rental player.
Forsberg has been washed up since his last year in Colorado and certainly has not been a dynamic player in years. And his consistency leaves much to be desired from an "all-star" forward of his former caliber. I understand Philly sucks and that may have something to do with it... but i honestly dont think he will be the old peter we've seen during the dynasty days of Colorado. If he does better for you, congrats... but remember his name won’t win you the cup.
Is that fear or jealousy?

For example, I live in Northern NJ and have listened to the Rangers fans talk smack about Forsberg for the last two season. Then, a couple of weeks ago, they entered the 'sweepstakes' and suddenly Forsberg became the greatest hockey player in the history of mankind. Anyone who truly knows anything about hockey who says they wouldn't want Forsberg on their team prior to a cup run is either lying or a fool.
