It's not even outdoor and they had both teams wear the same jerseys. Bungled by Vancouver...

I figure my wife (casual fan at this point) has a valuable viewpoint here... the stadium series jumped the shark. The uniforms, not having a cart for Daniel Sedin, the league treating these like neutral games, not to mention distance from the stands; all gimmick.

Pretty obvious the "computer glitch" is rather telling in regards to how much of a sellout this game was. It was full, but it had help. Giving those to kids was at least the right way to do that, but still, it's not the league's finest hour.

Huh? White with a huge 'O' vs. Maroon with a huge 'V'. What are you talking about?

These games are a bad joke. A few years ago you had players skating in the rain/sleet, Saturday night the puck would slow down in the snow, and yesterday's game, while free from the wrath of the elements, still had problems with the ice. The NBC guys made a point of how similar the unis looked once play started. Also, shouldn't a team called The Millionaires have a fly looking jersey? Maybe something with that Monopoly guy on it?

The demand was there for a sellout. Craigslist/Kijiji was loaded with WTB posts at $100+ in the morning before the game.

Bingo.

Both previous Heritage Classics were proper outdoor games. But Olympics showed Vancouver was far from being the classic Canadian winter town.

Every All Star Game to date has been played indoors. Would that mean that if the league's greatest players were assembled to play an exhibition game outdoors, it wouldn't be a real all star game?

The NHL. It's right on their website under "Outdoor Games".

Maroon pants and off-white top (with many maroon highlights) versus maroon top and off-white pants does throw a lot of people for a loop, especially if (like my wife) you wear glasses. I dare you to say that people who wear glasses shouldn't watch hockey. Also, the O wasn't that huge, and how often do camera angles catch the fronts of sweaters anyway?

It's more fun watching it in difficult conditions (from in front of the TV, of course) than it is when the setup was rather, shall we say, climate controlled. It's really rather artificial in BC Place. Maybe I should have seen the Dodger Stadium game also, in order to decide how it played with palm trees.

Of course, the proof is in the pudding; the NHL already announced scaling back for next year.

Which is ironically what gave it enough hotel rooms to host a Winter Olympics on the scale they brought it.

Think this has been discussed about as far as it can go, especially as the event has already taken place now and topicality has shifted to sweater talk and if it was really an outdoor game, so let's all just fly on out of here.
