Meeting Rangers players on the road

I wondered if any Blueshirts fans have tried to meet the Rangers on the road. I ask because they are coming down to Raleigh for tomorrow's game versus the 'Canes and I wanted to see if my daughter and I could meet a couple of players. Two of my students met a bunch of Ottawa Senators players (they are from Ottawa originally) and their dad told me that they were the only ones at the hotel.

From the times I have been on the road watching the Rangers and watching visiting teams come in to MSG, a big part of it is to wear something "Rangers" and know who you are talking to.

Generally the lesser known guys will give you more time. I have heard and seen that guys like Ortmeyer, Betts, Hollweg, Orr and Aaron Ward to name a few are always very gracious.

Ward is great, he'll buy ya a beer.
Shanny & Rosy are nice and will sign auto's if you don't
act like a spaz. Prucha is a little standoffish at first,
but thats most of the guys who come over and are just
learning the language.

Hell, take the family out and meet the coaches !

The road is always the best. I usually won't go near players at home. Everyone knows them and it seems like they usually are a little more cautious. If you know who they are when they are on the road I think it means more.

Blueshirt Yankee, I'm actually coming down from NJ to see that game also. I'm also going to see if I can get a couple autographs while I'm there.

Just watch out for a few of the guys...from what I've heard Jags and a couple others have been sick with the flu.

Go Rangers!

The best place was when they used to stay at the Mariott opposite Nassau. All the away teams stayed there and would walk from the hotel to the rink. That is how i got to meet Pavel Bure back in 93 or so.

I waited by the gate in Vancouver a few years back, and saw most of the players enter. Most of them were in kind of a hurry but I got 4 autographs.

Sounds like good advice. Hopefully, I will try to meet some Blueshirts tomorrow...if they are able to make it down!

I bet Perry Pearn is a lot more relaxed on the road...I know I would be without Al Trautwig's giant, neckware mancrush.

I saw Perry Pearn in DC last weekend. He came out and sat on the Rangers bench about 10 mins before warmups drinking coffee. He looked deep in thought, but he acknowledged me when I congratulated him on the win against Tampa the night before.

I met the Rangers this year at the Kings Practice Facility in LA. I got my picture with Hollwegg, Prucha and Straka.

How do I meet the Rangers?

I have a 7 year old who absolutely loves the Rangers. I was wondering if there is a way for him to meet some of the players and perhaps get pictures taken with them.
Who do I call to make this possible?

Any help and advice appreciated

Hmm they told me dont even try. They said Rangers practices will be closed on the road just as they are at home. I guess I shouldn't have listened.

Well, how much money do you have? It's not easy just to go somewhere and get pictures taken. Casino Night? Go to Bryant Park in December and you can meet Rangers when you drop off a Toy for a Tot. Wait outside the training center? Go early and wait outside MSG (about 2 hours before the game).
