The Curious Case of Jeremy Morin

Last 10 games: 9 goals, 8 assists (17 points)

I understand why he's not up. It has to be lack the lack of salary cap space and the fear of the guy who would get sent down in favor of Morin getting claimed on waivers.

Worst case, he is increasing his trade value at the right time. He should be an NHL player.

Yes, he should. No question in my mind that he is the top guy in our org right now who should have an NHL job.

They have to find room for him or trade him while his value is super high. He deserves another chance in the NHL with that kind of production.

Agree. To add, I don't know why he couldn't have been given more rope to win a job but the Versteeg deal killed that (BTW, not a fan of 32 and even though we got him at half price it pretty much killed our cap space for this year). Alternatively Morin might have been prepped at Rockford to play on our fourth line (even though he might have higher upside with another club) but then there was the story a few months ago quoting him as saying he didn't know what was expected of him. That kind of leaves trading him as the only option to get value for him. Bottom line: his situation has been poorly handled.

2 or 4th line for Morin

He's a guy that could be called up and not wasted on the 4th line. He's got some grit to his game and a nose for the net. Looks like a decent 2nd line player, ultimately. Him and Pirri are the Icehogs I want to see given more NHL games if possible.

Morin slots onto next years fourth line seamlessly. No clue why everyone considers him gone.

Bollig is a UFA if the Hawks let him walk Morin is the best option. Sort of like Smith this year.

I am not sure they'll let Bollig walk. They seem to like him.

Then you carry Morin as the extra forward unless somebody blows you away with an offer.

Tearing up the AHL isn't going to do a ton for a guy's value.

I didn't see him play a consistent game when he was given a few chances earlier in the year.
He has been great in Rockford, but he needs to be good up here as well, and I didn't think he was

The Chicago Blackhawks could use a spare winger on the roster next season, especially if the Chicago Blackhawks will carry 14 forwards during the 2014-15 NHL Season.

He'll be up here next year.

Handzus will be gone
Regin will be gone
Bollig could be gone
Ben Smith could be gone

Sharp Toews Hossa
Saad Teravainen Kane
Bickell Shaw Versteeg
Morin Kruger Smith/Kayes/Bollig

Getting a little wary thinking about our great prospect pool not ever amounting to much due to lack of roster spots

As long as we have a great team, who gives a **** about our prospects?

Kinda keeps the team great under the cap. Like Saad, Leddy, Shaw, etc.

If we have a great team, then we don't need to worry about the cap. And if we have a great team, it probably means our prospects have come in and done a good job.

Those prospects you don't give a **** about are the difference between a 2012/13 cup winning team and a 2010/11 8th seed who gets bounced in the first round. Prospects on cheap contracts let us have cheap depth to support our core. Depth wins championships as much as anything else in this league

that's a rather simplistic way of looking at things

If you could sum up the stereotypical HF attitude in one post, this might be it.
