Rumor : Roberts for Eaves

Eklund has rumor of Gary Roberts going to Ottawa for Patrick Eaves ..... I gotta think Sturm has more value than Roberts, so I wonder what we can fetch?

I haven't seen one rumor come true on this forum.

Aside chiarelli being hired.

I highly doubt Ottawa does that. While it's true they could use a forward like Roberts in the playoffs, Eaves is a great player for them and can be used anywhere...anyone else notice that Ottawa is FILLED with versatile players?? Schaefer, Fisher, McAmmond, Schubert, Vermette, Kelly, Eaves...

and besides...it's Eklund

Sturm is a nice guy, but Gary Roberts is a winner. Both are one year rentals so forget about age. It would only be relevent if Roberts couldnt still play.

Roberts has more value.

Still... if Robters is worth Eaves... and I would guess Eaves would be worth at least a good second round pick and maybe even a crappy 1st rounder...

then it isnt out of the question that Sturm could get us something back likely to make a decent impact at the NHL level for us.

Id jump for joy if we could get a first rounder for Sturm... but it would be even better if we could get a NHL ready 3rd/4th line stud on a great contract

Is Roberts a UFA after this season?

If so, Sturm won't fetch more then Roberts because he's going to be a UFA.
