Robitaille & Hilbert

A combined 4 point night last night for the two Bruins castoffs. Too much.

I said to my buddy, I didn't even know Randy Robitaille was still in the NHL.

I wasn't trying to say getting rid of them was a mistake. Just pointing out the irony in that two guys that used to play for us, and were not very good beat us last night.

It happens a lot in sports, but I just hought it was funny. I remember in the 2004 Sox/Yanks series when Tony Clark came up with a chance to win the game for the Yankees. That would have been the crown jewel in this type of scenario if he had hit one out.

Hehe, that was my exact reaction as well.

Didn't Robitaille get knocked out cold by Ken Belanger in his first game?

Separated his shoulder if I recall. Belanger plastered him into the boards with a hit, maybe even on Robitaille's first NHL shift.

Even more funny is that, again if I recall correctly, they were dealt for each other not shortly thereafter.

Andy Hilbert would not be welcome in this organization again - good riddance to him.

Four points is a bit overstated, as Robitaille did get that empty-netter.

Yeah, the Bruins are doing very well without him.

Yeah, you might be right actually.

That game against the Isles, I remember Belanger first killing Robitaille with the hit, then dismantling Odgers in a fight later on.

All insults aside, Hilbert actually played well last night. He had good speed, he forechecked hard, he had a number of scoring chances. I'd take him over Mowers any day of the week.

Standard M.O. for former Bruins who were shuffled off. They always tear up the B's. Czerkawski had only 3 hattricks in his career, I believe, and 2 of them were against the Bruins, if I remember correctly.
