There was a time that I thought the Sabres wished
Afiniginov would turn out like Sammy. He had skillz, just
didn't put them together like Sammy did his first few
years.

But over time Maxim has progressed, and we all know what
has happened to Sammy. Now I bet Sammy wishes he
was like Maxim.

I understood it to be one of those "lower/upper body" injuries, I am not too certain that it was anything more than that. There would have to be a sudden blow up between him and Lindy Ruff for anything major such as a trade to happen. The Sabres are looking to add defenceman in liu of last years injuries and the effect it had on them come time for the finals, but Afinogenov would be a steep price, and what defenceman available out there would garner a player of his stature in return?? As for the phone call, as my good buddy Fred Brathwaite tells me, if you get a paper cut, the agent wants and needs to be the first to hear about it, they need to know everything and anything that may affect players contract and playing status. Has anyone else on here seen or heard of any riff between coach-management/player relations in this case??? Adios for now

The market for a Marco Sturm just keeps on getting bigger and bigger by the day.

He'd be a perfect fit in Buffalo (other then the fact he plays LW).

Slightly off topic, but as much as I try to laugh while watching him I have to say that Dane Cook might be the most unfunny comedian since Rosie O'Donnell.

Not to mention that Jim Benning used to be the Director of Amatuer Scouting for Buffalo, so he should know what they have in the system that we would want.

B37, we have had our disagreements...but you have never been more on with a statement than this one.

How can anybody think this guy is funny? I just don't see it.

Ouch, this is sooooooooooo painful. I broke my right wrist a few years ago. The recovery time was 2 or 3 months including the physical therapy. Then again, I'm not in my 20s anymore so that explains the shorter time. I don't envy him trying to hold a hockey stick when the cast comes off.

I think that Marco Sturm would be a better fit in Buffalo. Plus isn't Bert still hurt?
