Ok well summed up, there was alot of talk of the playoff race and how Shanny believes it will come down to the last two games of the season to decide the final 8.
Then they went on to speak about general hockey things, such as,
If Crosby is the real thing, (Shanny said yes)
If the Forsberg trade makes Nashville the top contender to win the cup (He said that we should expect them in the finals)
And if he's in favor of Bettman (He said that the NHL has come along way and he is pro-Bettman, although he may have been holding his tongue on that one....)

Love Sommers, that is the only time I will even let the dial stay tuned to that stuff. That show is terrible, I mean they talk about golf and horse racing, I mean who cares! Mad dog is paid to talk about all sports and he should be ashamed with his knowledge on hockey. I mean I hate Basketball, but if I were paid to talk about it I would watch it and have the proper knowledge so when I get on the air basketball fans won't know how ignorant I am on the topic.
I've listened to Mike and Dog since the shows inception.
It annoys the hell out of me how both of them, but mostly Mike, almost seem to be proud of how little they know about the NHL.

I agree. I love M&MD, I think it's bar-none the best sports talk radio show in the country, but they're treatment of the hockey community really pisses me off.
Even last year they never mentioned it, they kept saying how the Rangers would get their time, the Rangers would get their time.
And then they waited until the playoffs to talk about them and all they did was rip on them because of how poorly they were playing, completely ignoring the first 75 games of the regular season.

then the rest of the country realllly needs to step it up with regards to sports talk radio. i think its just a loyalty thing, based on supporting those fools because its a "NY thing."
they are atrocious and I can't stand them. not saying i could do a better job as some do say, but they sure as hell do everything to make themselves as unlikeable duo as there is.
Steve Somers does a good job with the hockey, especially after the games, the phone callers really know their stuff and I actually can listen to it until the end at 1AM
Joe and Evan talk about hockey at times but Joe has said their boss gets mad when they start talking about hockey too much but the past few days they had a few calls about it
Mike&Mad Dog forget about it, but at least I am surprised they still aren't talking about the Super Bowl, usually they analyze the game way too much
