Eberle for Callahan(signed)

I think because of age and skill Tampa Bay would have to add. Seems to be a good fir for both teams.
Tampa needs a playmaking winger for Stamkos, and Edmonton could use a 2nd line defensively responsible winger with some leadership

Thought?

So in general it would look like:

MSL for Eberle, 1st, 2nd

Maybe if Tampa can sign Callahan for a 7 year/21M deal, and given that can't get him for that low not bloody likely

If the Oilers really want Callahan they can throw the kitchen sink at him July 1

Edmonton would move a winger for defense, not another older winger.

Tampa would definitely have to add. Can't see Callahan signing in Edmonton though.

Callahan is not signing in Edmonton, unless you offer him 8 million per for eight years I guess.

Yep if Eberle goes its for a big two way 2nd line center or d man 0 chance he gets traded for a winger.

I forgot Eberle scored a goal last night so he's untouchable again.

We don't need any more god damn wingers. We need a bigger second line C and upgrades on D.

Don't get all hurt when you propose a terrible offer that does not address any Oiler needs and it gets shot down.

Why does EDM or at least Oiler fans, want to trade JE14?

Drouin, Panik, Kucherov, Connolly, Erne & Purcell. I think that Tampa are set on the wings....

They should flip him for picks or a D-man. They need to improve their D.

Callahan plays a physical two way game. Who in the Oilers current top 6 also does that? Perron would be the closest.
Its not getting hurt about the proposal(which was not a straight up deal) not being well received. Just tired of the toe drags and lack of defensive/physical play in the top 6.

There isn't a good 2C with size available or rumoured to be available.

So trading away Eberle for a better version (not not by tons mind you) of Clarkson is the answer?

I didn't say it was straight up. I think the basis is there. I guess the novelty of "potential" has worn off me

This is an absurd trade offer. No realistic contract value for Callahan makes him worth Eberle. It would be Callahan++ for Eberle, if Edmonton was even interested.

Again. I said right in the OP that Tampa would have to add. what if that plus was Radko Gudkas?
Seems moot anyways as Tampa fans believe they have wingers to replace St.Louis
