Hope everything goes well with Shanny. Haven't seen the hit yet, but the way the Ranger fans and the Ranger website has made it sound looks like it was a bad one.

Prayers are with him from Texas.

I haven't seen the hit either, but it sounds ugly. All Avs fans wish the best for Shanahan. He's tough though, so I'm sure he'll be fine in no time and back on the ice.

I might dislike or even hate the Rangers but this stuff is real life. I saw sort of the same thing with Kevin Stevens although he hit face first & was never the same player again.Hopefully that not the problem with Shanny hopefully it's just a concussion

I said it in the game thread, we're hoping for a speedy recovery on the Flyers board. It's one incident where there's nothing to debate, we can put our teams aside and just hope everything works out for the best.

That was really ugly. I don't know if he's got a concussion or a bad one if he's alert already but I have to think he's got a pretty nasty whiplash. A mean spirited game but that was an accident and it didn't sound as if Knuble is doing too well either. Both are good players and good sportsmen.

Same to you guys with Knuble. All the smack talk crap (of which I participated ) is pretty meaningless when something like that happens. So far the reports seem to be encouraging from both sides.

Did anyone get reminded of when Keane & Lafantaine hit each other, Thats hit sadly ended The rangers Chances of getting into the playoffs that year, but even worse ended a classy guy & a great Players career far to early. Hope history isn't repeating itself.
BTW Get well Shanny!

i dont think that he has more than a concussion. he was out for a little but he seemed a lot better later and just looked worse cause of all the precautions. im sure he will be out min a week cause of the concussion and i really hope that is all. good luck to him and your team.

I believe some people around the forum saw Knubles helmet hit him in the Jaw. It's possible that knocked him out (much like a boxer getting knocked out) even before he hit the ice.

Lets hope he has a full recovery, he has been a true leader for the team this season.

considering he had no memory of the hit, and was out for such a long time, concussion is obviously what you look at. At first I was scared of spinal cord trauma because of the violent way his neck snapped backwards following the fall to the ice, but since the CAT scans were all clear, concussion is probably the only other alternative. I would assume at a minimum, even assuming all his post concussion stuff is kept to an absolute minimum, he will be out 5 games.

Great news, hope he will get soon.
Happened to me something similar during snowboarding, i crashed with other big guy...i was off for some minutes, but next day i was riding again.
I say that Shanny is playing against NJD on Tuesday, he is a tough customer.
