How I think it will actually go: Cairns and Callaghan get spots, Trafford maybe starts the year with the team but a different 3rd OA is brought in.

The above situations assumes Payne, Paterson, Kea and Graham all head to the AHL.

Payne Kea Cairns Trafford are the fwds. Only one I could see signing a contract is Kea to play in the AHL
Defence - Callaghan Ringuette and Graham - G Paterson.

Assuming the depth of Detroit goaltending Paterson could be back or used as trade bait. Team can carry 4 OA's till Christmas but can only play 3.

Forwards
Moutry - Sadowy - Lodge
Clarke - Stephens - Payne
Addison - Alexeev - Cairns
(First Round Pick) -Kyler Carter- Kris Bennett- Adam McPhail

Defence
Orban- Holmes-DeSousa-Crawford-Prophet-Abbott - Ringuette

Goalies
Serebryakov DiClemente - Paterson

Although good in theory, IMO there are a few of players on your list that I don't see coming back next season. I made a few predictions last season as far as players that would not return and if I remember correctly they did not return. Here is my predicted list of players ...

94' Kea, Payne
95' Moutry, Lodge
96' Addison

Kea and Payne leaving would open up the door for Trafford to remain but will Trafford who has yet to be drafted choose to stay?

Moutry and Lodge will want to be moved next season to a team that will have a shot at the memorial cup. These two players have value so we may see the Spirit move them and go into a complete rebuild.

Im not sure about Bennett, would he want to play fourth line after playing two seasons in Junior A and would Crawford want to come over? If I was Crawford I would want to go to a defensive team that would allow him play the offensive D man role. If we don't see them on the roster by the end of the season I see them moving.

Ringuette? I would move or release him.

Playing Plymouth on Valentine's Day. The OHL schedule makers have a sense of humor.

If you haven't checked this out yet, former Spirit forward Gregg Sutch talks about his decision to step away from the game he loves. It's a great read and he has good things to say about his time in Saginaw:

Starting to show some chemistry on all four lines. Please keep it the same
Need to keep Orban in like up and try to get Holmes some ice.

Also appears Locke had the C removed at replaced with an A ? Jesse Graham wearing an A ? Whats up

Is Trafford hurt as he has not been in the lineup for the past three games?

Spirit D prospect Marcus Crawford has been named to the 2nd team all-prospects for the OJHL.

http://pointstreaksites.com/view/ojh...21/news_136076

Him along side Orban or Holmes next year will be nice.

A couple things:

1) Saginaw can officially clinch a playoff spot tonight with a point against Kitchener, who we are 0-3 against.

2) If Kontos plays all of the last 8 games, he will tie the record for most OHL games played in a career at 337. If he does this, he will have missed a grand total of 3 games in 5 season.

According to a reputable poster on the Spirit message board, it doesn't sound like an injury but looks like he's done in Saginaw.

Also I noticed Locke had an A on last night and not the C. Don't know what that's about.

Maybe some bad blood developing between Saginaw and Erie after last night? One melee broke out after Sadowy tried poking a puck into the net as the whistle blew. Dansk speared Sadowy and then everybody got a dance partner, including McDavid. Moutrey went at with Burakovsky before they slammed each other to the ground.

Then in the third, Addison gave a cross check after the play to an Erie player and so Dansk cross checked him right back. Another brawl brakes out. Needless to say Dansk was not a fan favorite in Saginaw after that game.

Could get interesting if these guys meet in the playoffs.

Owen Sound looks like they may have a little more difficult of a schedule for their remaining games. If the odds are played, Saginaw will match up against either Erie or London in the first round.

If Owen Sound can find a way to pass The Spirit in the next 6 games, that would match up Saginaw with the Soo. This race looks like it will head into the last week of the regular season.

Trafford and DeSousa are in the Gilbert doghouse. Don't think they will be dressing for the Spirit anytime soon.

It's unfortunate considering that there were more players involved in the off ice incident which took place. If Trafford was sent home they should have all been sent home. Equal punishment for the players involved.
