Don't know much about Jarnkrok. 22 years old, 36 points in 57 games for Grand Rapids this year.

Patrick Eaves the grinder who cleared waivers?

Let's hope it's a decent prospect

As for being a "buyers market"... sounds like a premature excuse as to why Legwand didn't get much. St Louis got a good return. Gaborik and Hemsky have done pretty much nothing this year (and the previous yr) and shouldn't get much of a return. Maybe going to a new team will ignite them-- no other reason for people to trade for them. Luongo is a contract albatross at this stage. St Louis / Callahan only players of decent value that have been traded.
No excuses, just my belief. Gaborik and Luongo still should have returned more, and St. Louis only fetched a UFA and two picks, despite being the 8th leading scorer in the league? I've just been underwhelmed, so am not getting hopes up. Feel free to spin that as you like.

That's the deal that knocked Poile's socks off? I'm glad we got something for him instead of nothing but sheesh not that good of a return at all.

Assuming the prospect is Jarnkrok, I'll definitely take it.

His cousin is Elias Lindholm that the Canes drafted #5 this year.

Background from EliteProspects:

A very skilled center that will get the job done on the wing as well. Järnkrok's main asset is his outstanding hockey sense, which allows him to be the great playmaker that he is. Overall a very smart player with good positioning in all zones. Also quite shifty with soft hands and impressive puckhandling skills. Not a physical player, but plays pretty well through heavy traffic although in need of gaining strength and muscles. Good character. Often used as pointman on the man advantage, but can still improve his release. Is a good skater, but there is still some room for improvement in that department.

Honestly, we got almost as much for Legwand as NYI did for Vanek. Jarnkrok looks good, from most reports.

Agreed, with the prices around the league for actual star players, I'll definitely take it.

End of an era, but it was time. Can't wait to see where this team is headed.

Looks like 3rd line potential on the surface.

The trade obviously all depends on the prospect. Eaves is a contract/salary dump. The third rounder is disappointing but the market is obviously soft. For everyone who says trading him is better than getting nothing this summer, wish granted, I suppose

Can't fault Poile. Nobody is getting great returns. We get a decent prospect, a third, and another third/fourth line plugger. The alternative was probably nothing.

HF says he's a 7.5C playmaker. Not bad at all. A 3rd is a 3rd.

Eaves is just a contract throw-in.

I never expected Legwand to get much. Suter yes. Legwand no. Looks like marginal gain. I do not think he was in the Preds long term plan.

järnkrok has upside of 2nd line C who lives on the pp.

good skater, very smart, shot is not great but it's not bad. should use it more, wrister is pretty accurate. slick passed, very shifty player. good defensively. needs to get stronger. compete level is ok, but could be improved. hands are pretty good.

comparison could be stepan-lite or granlund-lite.

i don't know to much about preds prospect pool but imo, he would be at least as good prospect as sissons.

3rd turns to a 2nd if wings make the playoffs per Daunic.

This is a really solid return especially considering Leggy wouldn't waive his clause to go anywhere else. Very happy with this. Kid has also been scouted by our European scouts which always makes me feel good.

I know most of you guys don't know much about Jarnkrok, but he has been doing great for us in the AHL. Red Wings fans will be irate if it is indeed him. He's our only great center prospect.

That's a nice condition, would help if we want to move up in the 1st. Hopefully we'll find out who that prospect is soon.
