If it's Jarnkrok, it's a good trade.

Exactly. They are furious, and as stated earlier if Wings can make the playoffs then that extra 2nd is really useful ammo to move up if needed.

this is actually a pretty good return. I'm quite impressed with Poile to be honest.

a lot of Detroit fans are pissed lol. jarnkrok is apparently their only legit top 6 center prospect in the system. plus the pick becomes a 2nd of the wings make the playoffs.

it's a pretty good return considering vanek got a 2nd and collberg. maybe he actually does recognize the need to add offense to this team. let's hope the draft is another step

THIS IS SICK… except that I bet Legwand takes a hometown discount and finishes his career in the D

Jarnkrok is our top 6 center of the future

Now that we are in TANK Mode hopefully we can pick up Leon and roll with this top 6 for the future

Hey guys, I come in peace.

Just wanted to let you know, you guys robbed us blind. Jarnkrok was our only top C prospect and is tearing it up in his first year of AHL.

You lucked out that our GM belongs in a straight jacket.

As much crap as we give Poile, here are his last three trades:

Erat for Forsberg
Klein for Del Zotto
Legwand for 2nd/3rd pick + Jarnkrok

Dude is robbing other GMs blind and building for the future. You can't be mad.

Not to mention Hornqvist, Beck, Leipsic, Watson, Sissons, Salomaki, Bourque, etc. Put that in front of...

Weber-Josi
Jones-MDZ
Ellis-Ekholm

Rinne
Hellberg/Mazanec/Saros

LAWDY. Not all of them will pan out, but...

How does Polie do it. Waits till the last minute and decides he wants to fleece another Gm I just don't understand

All are AHL players or bottom line guys.

Honestly, here's how I think it went:

*initial conversations*

Poile: Give us Jarnkrok
Holland: No
Poile: Ok, Datsyuk is hurt, Z is hurt, Helm is hurt, Weiss sucks. I'm fine keeping Legwand and re-signing him. Bye.
Holland:....fine.

Isles HAD to move Vanek. We had the leverage here.

They may end up there, but they could be better, especially Beck and Leipsic.

Leipsic I have high hopes for. The rest are going to be bottom 6 or AHLers imo.

Difference between "bottom sixers" and "bottom liners". I think a few of them (Beck, Salomaki, Watson, etc.) could become excellent 3rd liners. But I do agree, no true top 6 guys there.

How soon we forget the Hendricks for Dubnyk trade and the Dubnyk for future considerations trade.

Well I would say Poile got the best of those deals as well. Moving Hendricks contract was awessome. Adding Dubnyk pushed Hutton to play better. Now he moved Dubnyk's contract off the books as well. I'm happy with those moves still!

I agree and in the grand scheme of trades those were minor. The "major" deals have looked great on paper so far.

Dayum. Best value return for a forward in the entire NHL today. That's some damn fine work, DP.

If he chooses to not go back to Sweden and realizes his potential at the NHL level I'm going to cry myself to sleep.
