He's not going against Gionta, but against Bourque... Vanek took that lazy ass place...

And if it can get Eller going, than I'm all for it. This team needs production from the 3rd line.
That's what I think. Doing this infuses some skills on Eller's wing as well as Plekanec's, and Vanek also plays with someone he has proven chemistry with. Breaking the DD line is out of question, for now, at least.

looks scary in the top six. Vanek-Briere could be sick in the playoffs too.
Best top 6 on paper for the Habs in ages. But Vanek should be on the left side of Plekanec and I'd have Brière on the RW.

Like I said, the 4th line is up in the air... The only two that should be on the 4th line at any cost are Prust and Moen. Bournival and White are interchangeable. Parros shouldn't have to dress anytime soon. Weise and Bourque are there for dept

No way MT move Gio down. I wish.

Vanek-Pleks-Briere
Pac-DD-Gallagher
Galchenyuk-Eller-Gio
4th line.

Hey, how about a legit 1st line... Max/Pleks/Vanek and actually give the best center on the team the best wingers.

Guys we can't just give DD our best wingers just because he's so used to centering the first line!

We have a chance to change things up for the next 20 games so that we are solid for playoffs.

Put the best player ON HIGHER LINES, chemistry is good but we have Vanek and it changes everything:

Pacioretty - Briere - Vanek <---- the person who can argue that this should not be our first line, please let me know WHAT can be better. Two power wingers with the center that has the most post-season experience and points. You really can't get any better than this.

Our second and third can be customized which ever way you want, it won't matter how we put it with the number of 2nd line forwards we have.

How about not breaking our only functional line and have 3 scoring lines instead of randomly putting three players together and hope for the best? Because that's rarely how it works.

Pacioretty - DD - Gallagher is a functional line when only ONE of them is producing? DD and Gallagher do not produce, i'm sorry but they are OK 2nd line forwards and good 3rd line forwards.

Bournival is Hamilton bound... Bourque probably put on waivers and Parros also...

That's my line-up.

We lose a pure shutdown line, but that's 3 lines that can play offense. Eller line can still take some defensive assignments.

So nice.

Vanek represents more closely the type of winger Montreal needed before they signed Briere (never understood that one). That said, he doesn't bring to the game any physical aspect along the boards, nor does he bring grit.

Still, a nice asset to have on a PP.

I don't mind about this trade because the price paid is low. He will probably end up on the free market, but the risk is worth it considering that Colberg has not progressed as expected this season.

BTW, Vanek is due to produce offensively only next season. The guy is constant in his inconstancy: he will produce every two years. I noticed that paterned while preparing a hockey pool. That's why I only draft him every two years.

Bourque on waivers? he has good trade value.. we almost got McGinn or Parenteau. Parros could be on waivers tho.

Desharnais has been close to PPG over the last 40ish games... Get a clue.

Gallagher is doing what's expected of him.

Pleks should center Galchenyuk and Gallagher, it'll be like the Seguin - Bergeron - Marchand line that existed during Boston's two Stanley Cup final runs.

Pacioretty - Briere - Vanek
Galchenyuk - Plekanec - Gallagher
Prust - Eller - Bourque
Bournival - White - Weise
Moen (injuries are common so he will likely be used)

Desharnais has TWO assists in 10 playoff games for MTL, I personally think he should be scratched.

You guys need to take experience more into consideration.

DD has 2 assists in 10 post season games. If he centers our first line, we have 8% chance of winning the cup. If Briere centers it, it goes up to 25%.

Pacioretty-DD-Gallagher
Vanek-Pleks-Gio
Galchenyuk-Eller-Briere
Prust-Bournival-Weiss

I would like those lines very much going into the playoffs.

What are you going to do if Galchenyuk is traded too? get a new user name?
