DP needs to be put in prison for grand larceny. FF for Erat and now Jarnkrok + for Leggy... I kinda feel for the Wings fans here now. Keep in mind also that we will likely pick William Nylander with our first pick that's three young Swed's. Horni and Aberg also. The kids mind will be influenced by this It will not be a surprise to see him in Nashville tomorrow morning.

Finally got to a computer. Been on the road all day. LOVE this trade. The just released Wings prospects article has him at #4 in their pool. Reads like this:

Quote:
4. (4) Calle Jarnkrok, C, 7.5C
Drafted 2nd round, 51st overall, 2010

A defensively-minded, offensively-gifted center is a valuable commodity, and that is what Detroit has in Calle Jarnkrok. He has the skill to play on both the power play and penalty kill, which he regularly does for the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins. His 11 goals and 19 assists in 54 games are partially due to adjusting his game to the North American rink, though shooting more might help; Jarnkrok only has 87 shots on net.
...and a 3rd to boot? I was really worried after seeing the low end returns for the sellers today, but this is a great return. As for him returning to Sweden, it seems like it's just him posturing to get a spot in the lineup. I don't think it happens. He was drafted in 2010 and is ready. Great Trade.

Great the Swedish Radulov
I do not know what is worse getting someone who is going to bolt or hoping for the Wings to make the playoffs to get a good pick.

My response there is the same as it is here.
What's he supposed to say yeah we fleeced them with a kid that is never going to play there.

When this backfires on Poile we seriously need to considering cleaning house.

Aw he might go back to Sweden, that answers why DET gave him up, otherwise it would have been like trading Forsberg for Erat. Nuts!

Lets see if Nashville can convince him to stay, I'd give him some NHL games, let him get a taste of it. Maybe he wasn't keen on doing his 3-4 years in the minors like Red Wings likes their prospects to do.

It's a 2nd if Detroit makes the playoffs. Winning!

Guys Leggy and DP could not come to terms. If DP had not got some kind of return he would have been crucified here. He got far more than Legwand was worth if the kid stays great. My concern is can the kid really play in the NHL, as beat up as the Wings are at center why was the guy in Grand Rapids??????????? So we did not get the coveted 1st line center or a 1st for Leggy. What we did get was far more than any other GM got today unless you consider Moulson and Vanek who will both likely still be F/A in the summer.

Guys, you shouldn't moan about Jarnkrok might leaving for Sweden. That's the whole reason he was even included in this deal. Otherwise the value would have been way, waaay off. You do have a chance to convince him to stay, give him some NHL games. Show that in Nashville you dont have to stay in the minors untill you are 25 like in Detroit.

Poile did well on getting some assets for Legwand. I am concerned this kid will jump to Sweden after he is given a chance in Nashville and Trotz puts him on the 4th line with Clune and Gaustad getting 8 minutes a night.

please don't take what that guy (triggerman) says as any shred of the truth... he's like many Preds fans that just assume they know exactly what each player is thinking. LOL.

I hope Jarnkrok decides to give this organization a real shot before making a rash decision. If there's chemistry between he and FF, this is a BIG win for the Preds.

The thing is, NHL teams forget that there is big money in Europe /KHL for players like Järnkrok and Forsberg. NHL seems to have less patiance these days with players that needs icetime and consecutiveness. Let them have a serious chance in like 25-30 games and 14-16 min in icetime including PP. Thats developing of character. Give them like 10 minutes/ game and not seeing any special teams situations will just make them fade and leave for the money.

Congrats, Preds fans.. You just robbed the Wings. You'll love Jarnkrok. He'll be a great player for you for years to come. Amazing talent. As a Wings fan, I'm ****ing pissed. I hope he kicks ass for you guys and shows Holland what complete idiot he is.

Poile just said that he hadn't heard about Jarnkrok wanting to go overseas until after the trade went down and is a little concerned about it. Said the guy just wants to play in the NHL. Said he needs more time in the AHL.

Copied this from someone on Wings forum!

"paste"
Here’s what Detroit development coach Jiri Fischer had to say about Jarnkrok’s potential just last month:

He’s certainly one of our most talented, if not the most talented prospect,” Fischer said. “Not to take anything away from others like Anthony Mantha, but Calle, the stuff he can do – he is as good as anybody in terms of hand-eye coordination and skill in tight places.

Sounds like Poile is lying to us or didn't do his homework. Surely we'll atleast give him a chance. However, Beck and Watson have been paying their dues for awhile now.

If we want him to stay, and he plays well, we need to assure him that he won't be in Milwaukee longer than necessary.
